I read the stickies! Very, very informative. I don't have a single question to ask. Just thought I'd say of all the forums the rogue stickies are among the best, and kudos to all who worked on them. Tonight after work I intend on rolling a rogue and trying it out for 20 levels or so this weekend, see if I like it enough to stick with it or if I will switch to Druid or Mage or something.

Anywho - great stickies!

Another rate up from me. Enjoy the class, it really takes off in the 20s when you get the really fun skills and talents.

And a rate up from me. Rogues are fun classes to play, but of course, skip the early BG's for obvious reasons.

No rating from me. I'm holding off to see how you like the class. Smiley: tongue

Coming from a recently rolled rogue, don't get discouraged the first few levels. I know it may seem difficult, but as others have said... once you pass level 20, it gets to be SO much fun!

I enjoyed (and still do enjoy) my hunter, but the rogue is a totally different ball-game and a ton of fun to play. After about level 10 or so (when you get dual wield) life gets much better.

Anyway, don't hesitate to ask any of us (probably not me, considering I'm still only learning) for help! :)

I decided to try it out for a few hours, see how it clicked... that was about... I don't know right after work and dinner, call it seven-ish. Now its one in the morning, almost two. I just put my first point into Improved Gouge. I debate now - keep playing and get two more levels and thus max out IG, or go to bed... hmmm... okay at least one more level!

Love the class. A lot.

If you don't mind the respec cost, put your first two points into Improved Sinister Strike. 5 less energy might not seem like a lot, but considering it's going to be your main attack for a long while, it's very much worth it.

Next 5 points should go into Malice. 5% crit is just awesome, really.

Problem is this is my only toon on this Server, so I don't have any gold right now. But that's alright. My plan was thus for the first few levels (so as not to spend on a respec, since I can't even afford 10S for swords right now)

Level 10: Improved Gouge
Level 11 - 12: Improved Sinister Strike
Level 13 - 14: Improved Gouge
Level 15 - 19: Malice
Level 20 - 21: Remorseless Attack
Level 22 - 24: Improved Eviscerate
Level 25: Relentless Strike

After that I'll probably head down the Combat tree, and at later levels look at a bit in Assassination, a lot in Combat and some in Subtle. Or maybe Combat swords. Right now I prefer subtle for attacking, but I am still low level.

Improved Gouge is pretty bad for grinding. Getting the extra energy is nice, but to do it, you have to wait around not doing anything. This will reduce your overall experience/hour rate, which is bad.

I ended up respeccing after all and putting 5 points (he's 14 now) into Malice for the +5% crit, next I'll be getting Improved Sinister Strike and probably the other two first tier Assassination and then Relentless Strikes. Then its up combat for a combat daggers build till probably forty or so, then I might do combat swords or even a subtle build. Not sure. I know I enjoy the hell out of the rogue and really, really liked that FAQ.

combat daggers
You sure you wanna do that? It's pretty harsh anywhere outside of a instance/raid environment. Swords is way easier to level with than with daggers.

After playing him for 20 levels I find myself really, really using stealth a lot. So I'm working at a hybrid build. And no, I didn't end up with daggers. Right now I am using a sword and a mace :P

So, with 5 Malice and 2 Improved SS its up the Subtle Tree! :D
