I'm trying to get good gear so I can do heroics soon, have one heroic key and I'm close to getting 3 more. I just want to get some input on what my priorities should be.

http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?2467608

This is my warrior. I don't know why, but all the info is not right. If I remember correctly I have 1485 AP, 26,00% crit rating and something like 10,70% hit rating with no buffs.

Should I go for more hit rating, more ap or more crit rating? I don't have a clue to be honest, and I don't really know if I'm ready for heroics yet.

A last question, is there a low threat rage dump I can use?

Thanks for any help.

Not to hijack this post... but how do you only have 6964 health? Also, when I go to look you up on the Armory to verify the health.. it came up with nothing.

That can't be correct...is it?

more AP.

if those stance are in zerker stance, WAAAAAY more ap and more crit.

you can find a lot of this information already posted in a couple other threads, including the dps sticky.

I found the actual armory link from WoW Europe. No need to thank me. All the numbers here are right:

Spiderpiggy

That being said, I think your boots are the weakest link. Upgrade them with pvp boots, fel leather boots, or Obsidian Clodstompers. Otherwise, your crit and hit rating are pretty good. Your attack power may need some work, but so far as I can tell, gear-wise, you're on the right track. Getting better gear is all you need right now. With better gear will come better health. Yea, its low, but don't worry too much about your health if all you're doing is DPSing.

Talent wise, I see nothing that blatantly screams "TRAVESTY!". In my opinion, swapping those 3 points in iron will over to improved heroic strike, and taking that single point in improved whirlwind and moving it to Piercing Howl (for controlling adds in dungeons while in defensive stance, and for soloing utility) would be the things I would do.

Those two minor changes I noted might not be worth respeccing with gold for though. Its up to you.

Edit: oh, Harry beat me to the EU link. XD

AP > Crit > Hit

From a pure DPS stand point.

Do not ignore Hit or Crit, just for the sake of AP.

about 200 ap = 1% crit

Socket Str > AP

You've got the right idea (build, points), now just focus on more AP. You should be able to do Kara DPS no problem.

Thanks a lot to both of you.

Yeah, I've been looking to replace my boots, Ive also been doing some instances with drops I need, but they never seem to drop tbh :/ I might just be unlucky.

Gonna focus on upgrading my strength/ap from now on, thanks a bunch :)

try grinding out ogrila rep for vortex walking boots. they have a bit less str and stam than obsidian clodstompers, but they are easy to get, just takes a bit of time to get them. i ran bot maybe 10 times to get my clodstompers off of high botanist freywinn (and he isn't the easiest boss to farm) and now i'm using them in my tanking set.

If you are going to be starting heroics, try to replace those ragesteel items with doomplate.

the items themselves will give you less crit, but that can be made up with gems, you'll have more health (just under 7k is nowhere near enough).

And you can replace some of your +hit items. i believe you only need around 140 hit rating, so i recommend the ring of umbral doom from bot, nice DPS ring.

As cruel for PvE warriors as it is you cannot find better PvE DPS gear in any heroics and even in Kara then S2 arena set/weapons (s3 soon).

If you want DPS gear of t5 quality - make 5v5 team,,,,

PvP rewards are much less powerfull but still very decent.

You could also make some craftables - Red Belt of Battle for example or BoE bracers.
he only problem will be that you will not gather tanking set along the way. And you want to have it if you want to explore more instances....

Even some of the gladiator gear is decent for tanking. The shoulders are very heavy stamina... the same goes for the chest piece.

As for that being the best way to epic out your DPS warrior. Nah, it's just a good way. Heroics (doomplate), and kara are pretty good ways of upgrading easily.

@ the OP;

Shouts are low rage, if you throw a demo shout out for the tank, they will appreciate it. Sunder in zerker stance works too, don't forget you have that (it's very low threat, 301 * 80% = 240 threat, with patch 2.3 that'll be 301 * 70% = 210 threat) available in zerker stance. Sunder is actually a huge boost to melee dps. And if you have salv or a tranquil air totem, you with all likelyhood will not pull threat from even a half-assed tank.

It's OK to sit on unused rage. If your TPS is too high, switch your rotation up to help the tank out. Keep BT on cooldown, but don't spam HS, even if you have excess rage. Another way for more steady TPS is to switch out some Crit for AP. I know that flurry is a great DPS boost (Best IMHO, imp zerker stance barely behind it) but steady dps is easier to manage.

I've done some minor upgrades now, so that I have about 100 more AP + about 6-700 more hp. The money isn't a problem atm, it's more about finding heroic groups who will accept a dps warrior. The lack of CC is what's killing me.

The thing is, all the players I group with are generally pleased with the way I play, but I usually end up being the tank anyway, even with my fury spec, since people want that CC. I feel respeccing would be a small defeat as I've spent so much time getting my dps gear sorted. I've tanked shadow labs a couple of times, plus instances like dark portal and Botanica without problems and some less than able teammates.

I will be trying to get the doomplate gear if I can, but it's kind of hard getting groups for heroics as I've said above. Any tips?

By the way, can anyone confirm that I only need 140 hit rating? If so, I need to replace some of my + hit items :)

no, you need more than 140 hit rating to cap it for d/w. you have a miss chance of 27.6% against boss mobs for white damage. your skills miss at 8.6%.

Socket Str or Crit over to hit, if you have LESS than 8.6% to hit. It's a bigger increase to overall DPS. If you have not enough crit to keep flurry procced, either from a rotation that doesn't provide more crit, or whatnot. Socket for crit until you think you have enough crit to keep flurry procced. AP provides a more serious boost to DPS, even though you wont see as many large text numbers, the rest of your numbers will be better.

once 2.3 comes out [should be next week] the TM bonus threat of MS and BT will make you more viable of a tank in heroics as you will be holding aggro better.
