Hello all!
As we all know patch 2.3 is coming out and it will help us with our alts. So I desided to have 3 characters going - my mage, shammy and a lock.
I am playing horde side so for race I think I will be going with either Orcs or Belfs. Would you recommend either one of them over the other? I am playing on a PvP server and in end-game all mycharacters will be aimed for BGs and Arenas. So said that, would you recommend Orc or Belf?
Now, I have been looking at various builds for quite a while - my wife plays a lock so I designed couple for her. She is playing Demon for now, but once she hits 70 he will probably go Afflic. But enough about her =)
I can't seem to pick between Affliction or Destruction build. ffliction is very familiar to me and I imagine pretty clearly how it is played. Destruction, on the other hand, is a bit unclear to me. There are tons of good-looking talents in it, however I can imagine having some mana issues from tossing these insta-Shadowbolts around. Have any of you guys played a Destro-lock and if you have - what are your comments/suggestions?

Well, from a pure PvP standpoint, Undead is probably the best choice for Will of the Forsaken. Will save your *** in BGs and Arenas.
Affliction is generally considered to be the best levelling spec, though I think that if done properly a Demo spec is just as viable. Destro on the other hand I'm not sure about as I have never tried, but just think of yourself as a mage with a pet and DoTs. You will be OOM and drinking alot, and will have downtime. Is this countered by the fact that you kill faster? That's up to you and your playstyle, not many around here will recommend it though. For PvP, you'll probably want a hybrid build including Soul Link and wither Ruin or Siphon Life. Those aren't good levelling specs though.

I have an Undead Mage, so I really do not want to make another undead character =) It starts getting dull and boring after a while.

I'm Affliction spec'd and I have to say that leveling is pretty fast and easy. Once you get Dark Pact, you essentially won't need to sit down in instances either.
I see the power of Destro and the fun and strength of Demo as well, but I find Aff. the most useful especially for the "earlier" levels. You'd want to put points in Aff. anyways to at least get the instant Corruption.

I can confirm that Demon is a great spec for leveling - toss in a few afliction tallents to compliment it and you'll never OOM and almost never die.
Basically:
1-49 Affliction
50-64 Demonology
64-69 Affliction
70- Whatever you want
1-49 Affliction
