Hunters and HitFollow

#1 Nov 02 2007 at 8:38 AM Rating: Sub-Default
Dont know if it has been asked and answered before on another thread...
But iam lazy and dont feel like digging it back up and hopeing to get an answer.

Anyways was wondering how much hit a hunter needs to never miss a lvl 73mob.
Dont know much about WoW mechanic and how much a mob has a built in miss%. Was hopeing someone here could answer my question.

Also if its not to much to ask, how much +hit you will need if you have each of the different Surefooted talent(rank 1-3 I believe)

I hope you are wearing flame retardant clothing. :D

Edit: You could have found your answer in the sticky. That's what it's for. The revised one is quite nice.

You need approx. 9% extra hit to never miss on lvl 73 bosses. This is about 143 to hit rating bonus (drag your mouse over the number to see the percentage).

Surefooted adds an extra % point of hit per talent point, so you would only need 6% with 3 points in Surefooted. I'm not sure if the tooltip will reflect your extra 3% or not.
#4REDACTED, Posted: Nov 02 2007 at 8:57 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Must of missed the new sticky.......but still find it a pain to have to scroll around on a thread to find when there are always nice people to answer it for ya....Did not know you could scroll over the rateing to get a %.... which was not in the sticky.

From tkasomething.com:

Final point. People often ask if you can really eliminate all misses. There seems to be a persistent myth out there that there is always some small residual chance to miss no matter how much +hit gear you equip. This myth is patently false. All testing to date has demonstrated that misses can be entirely eliminated by having sufficient +hit equipped. HOWEVER, bear in mind that there are certain debuffs and curses that WILL affect your miss rate and your chance to hit. (So, for example, Attumen has a curse the affects your hit rate. So, you will notice some misses while fighting Attumen if you get affected by the curse. Other bosses and mobs also have debuffs and curses. Nightbane is another example of a fight where a debuff can affect your miss rate.)

So if the sticky says you can't eliminate all misses, the sticky is wrong. I'm not sure which sticky you checked, but read Mulgrin's; it is more up-to-date.

you can eliminate misses completly by having enough +hit
also racials can play a part in how much hit you need.

read this and it should be clear http://tkasomething.com/hitrating.php

Humm must of read it wrong... Thanks for the update.
Working on +hit now and hope to hit that magic number where i never miss.
For never stepping foot into Kara yet I think iam doing good on gear choices for what iam limited too.

Now to wait for guild or find a new one to start raiding(Bahh to happy with the people in guild to ever leave)

You have terrific pre-raid gear, and you enchant most/all of your gear. You're ready to rock Karazhan, should you decide to find a raiding guild.

There are some tweaks you could make to your spec to improve, but you didn't ask so I won't shove my advice down your throat.

yeah, really not what you want to say in a post... it usually will result in a rate down and nothing constructive in reply to your post.

Ya going to tweak my talents when we get our Kara/5 man hero group going...till then iam going to keep the trap because pugs always seem to break them one way or another..

Haha did not know we had a rateing... If it did anything worth while I might care.. Iam just hear to answer what little I know about hunters(The last of the MM spec) and having some questions that boggle my mind.

Rate down if you can. If iam going to be bad I would want to be the worst rateing as possible.

If your rating score goes down far enough, your posts will disappear - making further posts pretty pointless. Since the only people to see them will be those who have chosen to not have anything filtered.

So it does do something worthwhile. Score goes down - nobody responds to you.

Of course no one actually has the filter set to anything besides never filter.
