when soloing, what is the best way to fight?
Charge Earth Shield, lay totems, max range lightning bolt spam, auto-attack, take a nap, go out to a movie, and then loot.
Joking aside, good advice so far... but be warned, it is painfully slow--casting or melee. Without damage talents, you need to squeeze every bit of damage potential you can. In practice you'll probably be doing both casting and melee, with the gear choice dictated by your off or previous spec. The best advice is to grab a DPS grinding partner to compensate for your lack of damage.
-After level 60, grab a melee DPS weapon for grinding. Your healing weapon is capped at 41-42 DPS and you don't need the extra +heal for grinding.
-Your shield is next to useless against caster mobs. Swap out for a DPS staff or--after 2.3--invest in a cheap 2-handed axe or mace. Remember you can swap in combat, but may have to re-apply your weapon buff.
-I prefer Flametongue since it's now affected by +dmg while none of my gear enhances WF. If you still have some enhancement pieces for grinding though, WF might be worth it.
-Magma and Nova are not worth their mana unless there's 3 or more mobs. Searing is your friend.
-Your survivability means you can AoE grind when you get bored, but not nearly as efficiently as a pally or mage. Chain Lightning, Magma/Nova, and Earth Elemental if you bite off more than you can chew.
-When you get an add, don't touch it! Stoneclaw actually works now, but usually cannot taunt past the agro of 2-3 Earth Shield charges or 1 shock.
-Nature's Swiftness works on Ghost Wolf. Sometimes running away is smarter than using NS on a heal, especially if low on mana.
