Well whenever i raid i always have at least:
20 elixir's of major agility
40 grilled mudfish, or warp burgers
5 mana pots
5 health pots
2 stacks of food for my pet
10 haste potions
10 fel mana pots
20 elixir of draenic wisdom
20 mageblood elixirs
10 scroll of agility V
20 bandages
And full ammo, (i think 18 slots)
I usually come over prepared, and sometimes dont touch the haste pots or fel mana pots.
I use the mageblood, haste, scroll, and fel mana just for boss fights, and usually roll with the wisdom, agilty, and statfood for trash.
For heroics and 5 mans i dont use anything. Raiding can be expensive, but its nice to know that you have all the buffs you can for a big fight.
To answer your question, I guess it all depends on how far you've progressed. If its your guilds first time in kara, or gruuls, or anywhere really, bring enough goodies to be able to rebuff after numerous wipes. When we go to grull's, i still bring all of that stuff, but i only use maybe 2 of each. All of the pots share the same cool down, so you want to be sure during a fight that you are taking the one you need the most, for me its usually the fel mana, if its a short fight, ill open with the haste potion, then when the cd is up i can pop either a mana pot if the fight is almost over or a fel mana if its just underway.
I dont use macros for pots, its easy just to click them, and you dont really need to use a macro.
