Supplies for the raid, 5,10,25 man runsFollow

This may be perceived as a "stupid" question, but I notice ppl talk about pots all the time.

My alt herb/alchemist is now high enough to mass produce pots for me, so my question is:

How much of each do you normally take with you when raiding, 5 mans, etc.

Health
Mana
Food (for you and pet)
Drinks
Bandages
Specialty potions (resistant, increase xyz stat, etc.)
Ammo (one bag or two)

When it's time to start raiding, I don't want to look like an idiot without supplies.

And while I'm thinking about it, does anyone use macros to utilize said supplies?

Thanks in advance.

I usually take a stack of mana pots, either fel or super. I also take along a flask of relentless assault, as well as a stack of ravager dogs. I'll often also take a few elixirs, in case something goes wrong and my flask wears off with one boss left.

I'll bring along two stacks of meat to feed to my pet, as well as a few stacks of water, in case our mage doesn't show up. I usually fill my bag with ammo and then buy another 2K or so extra. I don't usually run out though.

This is for a kara run, we typically do until curator, and sometimes, if we have our better players online will do curator as well.

Well whenever i raid i always have at least:
20 elixir's of major agility
40 grilled mudfish, or warp burgers
5 mana pots
5 health pots
2 stacks of food for my pet
10 haste potions
10 fel mana pots
20 elixir of draenic wisdom
20 mageblood elixirs
10 scroll of agility V
20 bandages
And full ammo, (i think 18 slots)

I usually come over prepared, and sometimes dont touch the haste pots or fel mana pots.

I use the mageblood, haste, scroll, and fel mana just for boss fights, and usually roll with the wisdom, agilty, and statfood for trash.

For heroics and 5 mans i dont use anything. Raiding can be expensive, but its nice to know that you have all the buffs you can for a big fight.

To answer your question, I guess it all depends on how far you've progressed. If its your guilds first time in kara, or gruuls, or anywhere really, bring enough goodies to be able to rebuff after numerous wipes. When we go to grull's, i still bring all of that stuff, but i only use maybe 2 of each. All of the pots share the same cool down, so you want to be sure during a fight that you are taking the one you need the most, for me its usually the fel mana, if its a short fight, ill open with the haste potion, then when the cd is up i can pop either a mana pot if the fight is almost over or a fel mana if its just underway.

I dont use macros for pots, its easy just to click them, and you dont really need to use a macro.

Wow, thats a little overzealous I think... You would have to be raiding for 20 Hours Straight, or Die 20+ times to use that many potions, and if your in a Raid that long... there is something seriously wrong with you or you have alot of time/money on your hands.

Health- 8k+
Mana- 6k+
Food (for you and pet)- I keep a stack of Ravenger Dogs and Talbuk on me at all times (vendor Talbuk, not cooked +Stam stuff)
Drinks- I have 40 Water on me at all times, simply because I am not sitting down to drink every pull.
Bandages- 1 Stack works for me, if you use more than that, there might be something going on <.<
Specialty potions (resistant, increase xyz stat, etc.)- Depends on what instance you go to, but usually 5 of whatever Resist potions (which I only pop at the beginning of the fight- uses Mana and HP CD), 5x Major Agility, 5x Mageblood, 10x Mana Pot, and 5x Health Pot (I have had the same stack of bandages and same 5 health potions in my bags for about a month now :S).

Ammo (one bag or two)- 1x 18 Slot Bag full 50/50 (Ironbite/Felbane) Swapping ammo on trash vs. bosses.

15-20 elixir of major agility
15-20 elixir of draenic wisdom
Mana Oil (5 charges per) - for boss fights
20 grilled mudfish
15-20 mana pots
5 health pots
2 stacks of food for my pet (fishing ftw)
20 bandages

That's what I keep in supply for Kara or a 25-man raid. I don't use all that in a single raid, but it's what I try to keep on hand and replenish as needed. If I have them, I'll use the Agility scrolls, but I don't go out of my way to get them.

I always have tons of food because I fish, so I never buy any food. I keep water on hand, but most times I raid I use mage water, so I didn't count that. And, I drink up after nearly every pull so I'm at full mana. Doesn't take long and usually the next pull isn't going to happen immediately anyway. I rarely use a health pot. They're on the same cooldown as the mana pot, which is much more important in a fight. Healers are there to keep me up, bandages and healthstone if necessary for spot healing, but I prefer to save the cooldown for a mana pot.

5-mans and heroics, I use the buff food (grilled mudfish) but otherwise don't use pots. Hardly any of the fights need it, nor do the usually last long enough to spend a mana pot on. I carry stuff around with me, but I don't use it in 5-mans.

Health pots - Whatever random ones you have (don't go out of your way for them.)
Mana pots - Fel Mana pots, but I just use the daily quest ones (In the patch ogri'la will sell pots that can be used anywhere for higher price)
Food: 1 stack of skyguard buff food, 4 stack water, 4 stack of whatever your pet eats (This is if there is no mage or your pet don't eat bread, also used as your health food when you have food buff)...And a stack of skyguard mana + health food for.
Bandages: 1 stack, i dont use em much though.
Specialty potions: Agi, wisdom, Assault (You don't need em, when I was BM I could stay around 3rd in damage meters without those pots)
Ammo: one bag of rep ammo CE for arrows HH for bullets

Montags list is pretty crazy and excessive (No offense Montag you are a god if you can supply all those and not go bankrupt.) but otherwise full of good stuff.

Well, its all free, cause I make all my own stuff so really it only costs the price of the vials. Excessive? most definately! But like I said, I like to be prepared, and when your guild is starting new content, there is a lot of deaths (Morogrim is a *****):P Oh and I forgot the mana oil on my list hehe

I do very much the same.
I always have with me:
>10 super mana pots
>20 major agility pots
3-5 flasks of relentless assault
scrolls of agility 5 (I seem to run out on those quite often)
>20 food buffs with +20agi
>5 healing pots
>20 food for pet

When preparing for raids I usually add a couple of super mana pots. If the fights are very mana consuming I bring those mana oils and stuff (however I usually can manage without those buffs as I'm survival spec and my mana consumption is not that high).

The most important thing is to have really big supplies of pots/buff food/... on progress nights. If you already farm the content you won't need as many buffs as you won't wipe that often. But on progress nights I can easily die > 15times which involves a lot of consumables :-)

My consumable list isn't as extensive as everyone elses..

They are:

2 Flasks of Relentless Assault
30-40 Ravager Dogs (farm meat from ravagers SW of HH)
10-20 Super Mana Potions (I'm an alch)
40 stacks of meat for my cat
2 stacks of 5xMana Oil

That's about it, aside from the full pack of ammo + 6 extra stacks.

I don't see the purpose of having Major Agility Pots if you are using Flasks. From my experiences you can have 1 or the other, not both.

Yeah, Montag's list isn't a big deal when you consider he's an alchemist. I'm only an herbalist and I have that on hand, plus the makings for tons more. With a guildie who will make you anything, being an herbalist saves the raider tons of cash (and you can sell the extras, too).

I usually take:

2 Flasks of Relentless Assault
10 Onslaught Elixirs (as backup)
15 Fel Mana potions
5 Super Healing potions
1 Superior Mana Oil (5 charges)
20 bandages
10 ravager dogs or warp burgers
20 worthless fish for the pet
5 Scroll of Agility V
18 slots of ammo
10 water (or Halloween Candy)

There are a few other items I could stand to bring, but some of those are not necessary when I use a flask.

I've not done any raids yet but are bandages really needed? I'm beginning to worry because I never took first aid.
#13 Nov 03 2007 at 7:40 AM Rating: Good
First aid should always be chosen as a profession, because Heavy Netherweave bandage is basically 5100 hp at no cost ('cept cloth). Should you take an AoE hit, a cleave hit or whatever that causes you to take damage, using a bandage will save your healers mana.

Yes. Bandages save your healers mana they need to use healing other targets. If your potions and healthstones are on cooldown and you take damage, bandages can save your life. For example, when we do Void Reaver the only people who get heals are the tanks and one dedicated healer for the melee so they can stay in during poundings. If a ranged dps person is too slow moving and gets hit by an orb they are expected to bandage themselves up. It definitely helps.

you cant raid without at the very least being able to use the best bandages.
So you'll need to level that.
Luckily its quite easy to do by just running deadmines > stockades > SM for linen, wool and silk and processing all of it into bandages.
