Yes it is a question about what spec to choose Smiley: clown

I have read several topics around here including the so-called FAQ.

My dillema is the fact that I want to be a healer (I have not played a shaman before nor any other healing class past 36 (spriest)), and all the leveling builds I saw here say that resto is bad. I´ve read Sun´s sigged thread too, and I think it was there that he said the elemental tree is bad? I seemed to get the impression that an ele/resto build is not good for leveling Smiley: frown

The point being that I dont want to spec resto only at 70, I want to learn to be a great healer until then, healing in parties and such starting from the very first instances, while still being able to level.

Any advice or insight please?
Thanks.

Leveled my Shaman on full resto..Easy. Can't solo as well, but Resto shamans do alot more dmg than any other healing spec'd class when soloing. Just run instances alot. This game is about having fun, if you got a spec you don't like what's the point. Go resto, seems you really want to, you won't regret it.

Actually it wasn't full resto..5 in enhance for more mana ^^ my bad.

I just recently started Shaman (right now lvl 33) and have been Resto the whole time, well I have 7 points in Enhancement, and while you don't have a crap ton of hitting power you do have survivability.

I've never played a healing class in WoW and decided I wanted the training. But you may want to wait to hear from some people that have done this longer.

My Shaman was Resto from about 10 - 34 or so. I could - and often did - solo as long as I was careful to pull one mob at a time of my level or higher, two or so if they were lower than me. And I did have to stop and drink now and then, but not too terribly much.

Granted when I switched to Enhancement I can pull more mobs and more often, so my XP/Hour _is_ higher. Of course DPS aside even as Enhancement I carry Resto gear in my bag and heal or off-heal in instances.

To many players, much like our Druid counterparts and even Shadow Priest Counterparts - our name means healer, spec aside.

Basically you can level as Resto. Even if you go Elem or Enhance though you'll end up healing.

Healing in groups and instances is exactly what I am looking for.

I have a 70 mage which was arcane/fire all the way, never frost, so I am not used to level up great, that is, if I can take 2 mobs of my level at the same time, that is good for me, Im ok with it. Siting and drinking wont be any news for me either.
