In 2 different arenas this week I was able to sprint through a flare and get a sap off (using Dirty Tricks) without being pulled out of stealth. The first time I thought it was some kind of bizzare anomaly. But when it worked the second attempt .....well, now I'm not so sure.

Perhaps some type of lag related bug?

With Dirty Tricks, it is possible to just get inside range for a sap and be out of the range for flare (although they are both 8yds iirc).

It's hard, never done it personally, but I have seen it done.

I think half of the trick is, the Hunter usually won't be standing directly on top of the flare. He may be a foot or two to one direction, thus giving you that 2 feet of wiggle room.

You can sap from outside flare because of the way the hitbox works. The flare is 8 yards from a one dimensional spot. The hunter is a small circle, so you have the radius of the circle outside the flare to stand in. That's the best case scenario for the hunter, your leeway increases as he moves off the center of the flare.

I should add that both times I was forced to sprint right through the flare radius as opposed to sprinting close to it, because the hunter was standing right smack in the middle of the flare.

By all rights I should have been brought out of stealth.

I think if you were spamming your sap key, you would sneak it in as you were getting in range.

hmmm how does flare work?

Does it ping every moment or does it constantly exude a stealth destroying aura?

Just want to throw in here - if you've got a hunter lurking on a trap with a flare out, you can wait out the flare, use cloak of shadows, and smash them without the trap getting you. 90% of the time.

Yeah....except they ALWAYS re-flare in arena.

With sprint I can occasionally get the sap off too with zero points in sub. The big thing im trying to figure out in arena is how all the paladins I fight manage to bubble + drink with no mage teammate. Saw it three times this week.

You can buy water at a PVP vendor (SW/Org) for like, 1 honor point each or something.
