I went up to the Elemental Plateau the other night to grind some motes of air in the hopes of getting my LW up to 375 in the much too distant future. I get there and low and behold, no one else is farming the airs! Even better, all the elementals have spawned! That's happened, maybe never to me before.
After my first circuit through, I notice someone else had shown up. I run over and see it's a Tauren shammy. No problem. If I see a guildy on the plateau, we'll 'divide' the area in two and work together. If I see another horde, I don't let him have anything, but I won't go all out to take mobs from him. If it's an ally, well, too bad for him.
Over the next several spawns, I just felt so bad for this guy. He was running around checking to see if any had spawned here or there or wherever while I just sat in the middle tracking. I forget how many times he ran one direction while a elemental spawned right on the other side of the hill/tree/rock he was just standing by.
The Tauren eventually leaves and two allys show up. Now I go full bore. They run around like the other guy, but now when I see mobs, I send my pet on one and tag another to trap while they just look on pleading me to have mercy. Of course I have none.
And of course, after each kill, these mana hogs have to drink everytime. It's great when an elemental spawns right on top of these guys and they don't have the mana to take them on (or maybe don't even see them) and I just run over and claim them. True I do have mana issue myself...eventually. After 4-5 mobs maybe I'll have to eat and drink. But as long as I have enough mana for a misdirect and a heal pet, I don't mind autoshotting from afar.
In the end, I got the 3 primals I needed to fill out my felstalker bracers in about 90 minutes. The drop rate was the same crappy one as everyone else, I just killed more mobs in the process.
I love being a hunter.
