Also...if I wait for a while before gearing up a guy (like say WotLK is WAY off and I get my 70's before then) then there will be better arena rewards easily available through normal PvP. Right now you can get S1 rewards for cheaper, but when S3 comes out...I'll be able to get the S1 rewards just from doing BGs. And when S4 comes out, etc. So even though I won't be in the heavy raid gear, I'll still have some epics to my name.
