To sum everything up, and make it semi-short.

How viable is dreamstate build for fresh level 70 healing, up through Gruul's Lair?
(http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=MxcrzfIsMuZZxtIzcq will probably be the spec of choice)

the reason I was planning on going dreamstate is because the lack of any true healing gear on a fresh ding of 70.

Would I be better off going full resto, or going with the dreamstate build for mana regen until I get a specific amount of mp5 / spirit? (mana regen in & out of combat)

I've gotten a few peoples opinion's and they said that the dreamstate build works fine, and its nice to have without gear, but once you get the gear a full resto spec is a lot better.

Was just wondering the opinion of the druid community :)

I call lazyness! :P

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure you could've gotten quite a few nice pieces of healing cloth/leather while questing. I can understand the Feral/Balance (however you leveled) pieces were more attractive though.

As for the question, I'd tend to agree. A full Resto build isn't much with some good amounts of +Healing since your HoT's will be too weak to keep up with damage.

So while I cannot tell you how effective a Dreamstate build with low healing stats would be, I can tell you how bad a full Resto build with low healing stats is. ;)

I hope, however, that you do not plan on getting geared in raids only, unless your guild is ultra-uber and can afford to drag you to raids for the sole purpose of gearing you up. Start is mid-Outland instances to gauge how well you do with that build and start getting your gear.

Check out WoW-Loot if ya need guidance. (Just switch the gear from Balance to Resto)

Well more than likely i'll get basically free runs through kara, gruul, and some of ssc, but any more than that I doubt.

I was more or less curious as to how they fare as healing in raids with the lack of epic gear.

I've posted on quite a few forums and it seems that dreamstate is definantly an awesome build for starting off, and especially for heroics.

people complain tree form HoTs can't keep up with the dmg done in heroics. hah.

Oh well, thanks for the help ;)

Alright I have a few comments.
First is that, I'm a full resto druid, always have been.
When I first hit 70 healed heroics fine with 900 +healing.
Now I am a healing touch druid for the most part. But I put all my points in resto because I only care about pve healing. And I have other toons I can pvp with. I didn't go dreamstate because I would have to pick up talents in balance I don't need to get so far down the tree, and I'd rather get talents I will need, since even as HT druid you will need to throw your heal over times.

Second, yeah I've never been dreamstate, maybe I'll try it sometime. But dreamstate is mostly considered a healing touch spec, so I think you're probably better off with a spec like this if you are going dreamstate:

Don't need Natural shapeshifter, it's really a pvp talent and it sounds like you're going to be raiding alot. Also, I think empowered touch would be more critical than imp rejuv to a Dreamstate build. Maybe I'm wrong. Omen of Clarity, yes it's great soloing, but not in raids, and you're probably going to respec when you get geared up anyway.
