Sorry to hi-jack the thread Ruin (well it isn't REALLY a hi-jack). But I'm in the same boat, by choice and limitations of playing style. My list of gear is normally something Pre-Instance, not Pre-raid. ie, I look for gear I can find without going in to instances.
This means Quest rewards, drops, AH purchases (which are drops as well, I guess - just not mine), crafted items, rep rewards and PvP rewards.
My question is this . I have 2 sets of numbers, very similar, but both are better in their own little way.
Set #1
Power 1512
Hit Rating 140
Crit Chance 27.44%
Set #2
Power 1516
Hit Rating 145
Crit Chance 26.47%
Now the only difference is that set #1 has 3 Gladiator plate items in it (Chest, helm, legs), set #2 has the Ragesteel chest, overlord's helm and shattered hand legguards).
The big diffs is that the PvP-centric outfit is higher in crit (nearly a full one %), but is lower on both the hit and AP. From what I understand, those 5 points in hit equate to abut 0.4% hit.
I haven't factored in the chestplate of a'dal yet ... but that does lose out quite dramatically on crit and ap over the other 2, although it does have some hit ... soo ... *shrug*
ofc, the pvp based outfit gives me about 1300 hp extra and 1000 armour extra, which as a solo questing / farming dps warrior may or may not be important.
These number are unbuffed, in battle stance.
So I guess the big question ... 0.4% hit or 1% crit.
