change throw so it generates a CP?Follow

Would this be too much to ask? With DT not proccing in the new patch maybe this would be a good idea? Yea i know wishful thinking.....

I think the whole point of the change was to avoid this.

Yeah. DT is a finisher. It consumes CPs. It doesn't generate them. Bliz felt the 60% to add a CP was OP on DT and you want it to be 100%? I'm not even sure I know what you were thinking here.

I think you guys misread the title. He wants THROW to generate a CP, not Deadly Throw. Imho, that would be OP, since it takes no energy to perform.

Maybe making a new throw talent that used 60-70 energy and produced a combo point would be useful.

Edit: Just to clarify(knowing most good rogues have it) it's Ruthlessness that procs the combo point, not Deadly Throw itself.

throw generating a CP would be kind of op

in a pve sense, fights where we move in and out for more then 10 seconds it ensures us a free 5 cp every break (gruul whirlwind, the lurker spout, stuff like that... the shades arc-ex?)

id say no to this, they might nerf soemthing more important to balance this in =\

I get it now. Sorry for the misinterpretation, but that would definitely be OP. A zero energy way to generate CP while rooted/frost novad would be just a little unfair.

Honestly they should add an energy draining ranged attack that gives a combo point. Make it less DoT than close combat, but at least it'd give rogues something to do on those certain mobs that you just can't melee.

Shrike:
40 energy
Requires a throwing weapon
Ranged attack that does 50% ranged damage and gives a chance to apply the poison on your main hand weapon. Awards 1 combo point.

Actually I was just thinking global CD, the ability throws with whatever delay your ranged weapon has.

i like that idea... basically what i was trying to get at, a ranged attack that could give a combo point. doesn't seem unreasonable due to the energy cost.

How's this:

Sinister Throw:
Instant Cast.
8-35 range
Energy Cost 30 + (Weapon Speed*10)

Does Thrown Weapon damage +10%, adds a combo point. Affected by Aggression, Surprise Attack and Lethality.


No matter how you slice it, slow or fast thrown weapon, the Damage::Energy ratio will be pretty bad, which is good because we don't want rogues to become a ranged class.

But it'll allow us to get a combo point on a distant target, and thus allow us to follow up with a Deadly Throw.

As long as you must remain still like our normal throw it doesn't seem OP with the energy cost. If we could maintain speed while doing it, it would be the same as our current DT proc.
