So I just joined a new guild with my 70 warrior, and the day after I join the guild master says that I'm to be the new main tank for kara in group 2 because the old MT left the guild with issues. I've been trying really hard to get my Hp/dodge/block/parry ratings up. Defense isn't a problem cuz I have 490 and I can have a few more buffs to go still. What I was wondering is with my build and gear am I ready to MT kara at least to curator or should I stay on the sidelines a little longer. Please look at my build and give me your opinions, thank you.
P.S. If I knew how to link the armory website of my character I would but since II don't just look up Strongheart, an alliance on server Akama

Here's your link

All I know about tanking in outland is from watching people tank for my hunter, but I would say run some heroics and get some purple gear.

other than that, if your guild thinks they can get you through Kara as MT, tell them your doubts, and give it a shot. They should know what they're looking for in a tank at that point.

Gear looks nice (can't see your shield tho lol) Prolly the Wayward footman one, yes?

*note* I'm going to run a lot of heroics. As the above post suggest is getting some purples from there. I've heard a lot of horror stories of Kara gone wrong. It's because the guild gets a 70 tank. Maybe not even kara keyed, and just dinged 70... then expect to rush him thru the kara process and have him tank... not geared up for it. My guild is ok with me getting prepared first.

I suggest replacing the ogre ring with this. [wowitem=27436]Iron Band of the Unbreakable[/wowitem]

Your back item is nice too, does not have the armor value of some of the others (270+ armor), but nice stats to it. If I may suggest getting a armor enchant on it then it's perfect.

I see you already have the clefthoof armor? The stam/agi one. Nice! My hunter makes my Warrior them too =) it's really nice.

You got the +def/dodge for helm that's fantastic.

I don't know if you're saving any Adamantite for our tanking gun or not... [wowitem=32756]Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer[/wowitem]

I've already told my guild leader when I joined that I have a lot of rep. grinding and lowbie instances to run, before I get rdy for Kara. I hear that's the BIG TIME circus in there.

I'm in the same boat as you are.. You're way ahead of me tho. I'd think you'd do ok in there, but what do I know Smiley: lol

*Edit* did you try looking here too? Gear List: lvl 70 and Kara gear check

HAH ironsole clompers?? those damn things stuck with me til obsidian clodstompers finally dropped from high botanist freywinn in bot >< gear-wise, don't be cheap with the stam gems, you need all the stam you can get. i socked almost all of my gems with +12 stam, and when i can get some more cash i will probably replace another 3 with +12 stam. most guilds are looking for at least 30% combined parry/dodge, and at least 20% block before you head into kara, and those stats you can usually get without even trying. 12k stam is a bit harder to get though, and you need to throw on all +12 stam gems, +12 stam enchants, +150 health on chest etc. to get every ounce of stam that you can get.

buildwise i would probably take one or both points out of imp bloodrage, fill out cruelty and maybe throw a couple more points into imp demo shout from elsewhere.

I disagree a little bit here. To get the most out of your gear, you should never ignore the socket bonus if it's a stat that is actually going to help you. For example, you've socketed a +9 stam gem in a yellow socket on your bracers that have a +3 stam socket bonus. If you threw a +4 defense/+6 stam gem in there, you'd get the bonus to essentially make it +4 defense/+9 stam. That's way better than what you have in there now.

In my opinion, if you have to socket pure stam gems in all of your sockets to reach 12K HP unbuffed, then you really need to get some better gear first, as you'll likely be gimping yourself on other important stats like avoidance.

Regarding your build, I think you should take those 3 points out of Imp Def Stance, and fill out Cruelty and pick up 2/5 Imp Demo Shout. There are very few bosses in Kara that have an AoE, and 6% will not amount to much on those fights.

It doesn't appear that you have your full tanking set on now, so it's hard to comment on everything, but those are my thoughts.
