Feral build?Follow

Wondering if the build I'm thinking about using would be any good. Would be mainly cat-focused, but using bear when necessary.

Would probably work my way up to mangle getting mostly just the minimums in Feral, switch to the Resto tree for those talents that are appealing, then finish padding out Feral.

Don't take any offense, but this is quite the cookie-cutter build so I'm not sure what kind of comments you're looking for.

Sure, people will fine-tune their builds differently but then it becomes a matter of playstyle and preference.

As for the progression, some people advise to get Omen of Clarity pretty soon and then continue Feral, and respec when Mangle becomes available only to start going toward Omen of Clarity again.

I think it's too much trouble. :P I'd do it like you and go straight to Mangle, then switch over to Resto for OoC.

So yah... not much to be said, really.

Sorry if it's too cookie-cutter to really merit the topic, but... yeah, I'm, pretty new.

Still, that's about all I need to know. Thankies.

looks like your basic tank build. however I wonder about 5% fear and stun resist. oh great you get one in 20.. I'd either buff that up more or do without it altogether.

As Selverein said -- it is pretty much a cookie cutter build, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

However on my druid I have a few differences from your build.

1. I did not put points into Brutal Impact -- I used them instead for Primal Tenacity. The extra fear resist can be a ton of help in the higher levels.

2. I ignored Natural Shapeshifter and put those 3 points into Intensity. (However I tank alot of instances -- your mileage may vary) Having the ability to gain 10 instant rage can be a lifesaver.

3. Instead of Furor, I took IMotW. My thought process on this decision was I like the extra stats as compared to popping in and out of form to get rage or energy.

With the order to take your talents -- do however you see fit. I took OoC very early. I did not respec when I had enough points to get Mangle. Maybe not the best idea, but I didn't have a problem keeping aggro in the Pre-BC instances. However now that I am 70, I don't know how I ever lived without it.

Here is my Armory page. The gear is a mix of cat and bear at the moment -- dont really know what happened there. heh

I agree in principle with maxing out Primal Tenacity, but don't think your math is right. Can somebody explain the math/mechanics? (yeah, I'm a posersage, what can I say) I'm pretty sure you have a baseline resistance to being feared or stunned by an equal-level mob, and the +15% is on top of that. Wowwiki's no help. : (

I myself have 3/3 Primal Tenacity for the full +15% resistance and I love it. I resist fears and stuns more than enough to justify the 3 talent points. I admittedly do a little dance every time all four of my partymates run around like scared little girls (yes I know little boys can be scared too) while I stay on task. I find that the extra resistance helps me almost as much when I'm healing as when I'm tanking, too.

Only other comments to OP are that I agree natural shapeshifter probly isn't necessary unless you find yourself running out of mana a lot, but furor, at least for me even though I'm PVE, is very nice. Those two changes would get you even CLOSER to cookie-cutter. : ) And like Selv I myself am a fan of getting to Mangle ASAP, and then filling out the Resto tree. Personal preference though.

hiya i'm a lvl 35 druid,
i switch from resto to feral when i reached lvl 30 since resto seems like useless because i'm a druid afterall.

but i've already done my talent tree build up and i was wondering if later i reach more higher lvl and gotten more talent points i'd spent about 31 points in balance because in the moonkin form i'd get more amor while casting.
any thoughts?

oh and i mostly tank instances too and sometimes when the healer is out of mana i had to heal them as well.
if i'm in the moonkin form can i heal or i have to get out of the moonkin form?

As far as I know, you always have 5% base chance to resist a Fear, Stun, and stuff like that. So that'd be 20% talented.

Not sure I understand the logic behind this. Sure, Feral is a much easier way to level, but Resto is far from useless. :P

Thoughts? Yes, I could definitely get me some tasty doughnuts. But that's entirely beside the point, ain't it.

Seriously though, I don't really understand your question. Moonkin is part of the Balance tree, one of its main attraction actually. The armor is definitely a plus, I don't think anyone would argue with that. So basically I'm not sure what kind of feedback you're looking for. Balance becomes quite a viable spec in the 40ish range, but I'll always prefer Feral, but that's me.

Gotta shift out, as per the talent description. "The Moonkin can only cast Balance spells while shapeshifted."
