I actually was looking at rep first, which is what really caught my eye. I guess thats what I was trying to build a case around.

Edit: Have you seen my gear?

hmm...yea it's amazing how you socketed your blade of the unrequited with vendor gems, and enchanted both of your weps with +2 wep dmg...

very nice

I find it odd that the only blue gems you have(minus your meta) are the ones in your Blue BOE boots.

I would honestly have a **** fit if one of my rogues showed up to raid without blue gems and/or enchanted gear.

No nethercobra leg armor on a tier piece?
No +6 stats to chest?
+5 agi on your hands?
+3agi on your boots?
+2 weapon damage on BOTH weapons? Seriously man, Fiery will give you more DPS than that.

If your guild doesn't provide enchants, then you need to:
a)run instances and save the green drops to D/E
b)go buy mats off the AH and have someone do it for you

I just picked up my cloak last night, and didn't even put it on until I had +12agi on it.

Oh god you guys. My point was that my gear is by no means perfection. I was not saying that my gear is some model of what everyone should do. I don't get very much time to play that isn't set aside for guild raids, so I just haven't gotten around to a lot of stuff yet (enchants, money, etc.) I get just enough time to get the money I need for repair bills.

I am a casual gamer, don't have time in my life for anything more.

Can we please get back on subject and off of why I "fail".

Edit: The crappy enchants are just ones I did myself. When I get firey I'll put that on.

This was Tyr's point. I wasn't trying to be a @#%^, just pointing out that you're not the only person in that position.

The thing is, this thread isn't about who is lacking a little bit in each department, but just completely fails at being a rogue.

Oh ! You are so damn elite ! You never hit 70 and you never run kara because of your uber skills, right ? You went right to Black Temple with your 70 quest gear, right.

You have no clue how long this guy is 70 and seriously, enough said.

Go die, but in a horrible hurting way.

Days at 70 really means nothing either if the person is a casual player who doesn't raid much. If the guy has appropriate Rogue gear that fits well with his talent spec and doesn't have too many pieces of gear 5+ levels lower than him then I don't see anything wrong as long as the guy is trying to get into groups appropriate to his gear level.

For the love of Bob, we just finished discussing why slightly sub-par gear isn't an indication of a bad rogue.

Actually the armory i listed was my rogues from like 4 months ago. The whole point of this thread is retarded. You have no idea the person behind the rogues your listing, they could be 8 years old, or semi retarded, both reasons why they might not be perfect in your eyes. This is like the ultimate flame thread you just managed to do it nicely to where noone is noticing, its actually the exact type of thing you should be straying away from. You have no reason to hate on these rogues, just cause their talent spec and gear doesnt fit your expectations doesnt mean they arent a decent player. Its just dumb maybe one day youll recognize that.

I'll bet you took a look at a few of the profiles linked here and said to yourself, "Self, you've got almost the same talent spec, and the armor isn't too far off either. Maybe I suck. Naw, I don't suck, these guys are just big cyber-jerks. Yeah, I'll rate them down and let them know what big meanie-heads they are."

This thread is about two things, really:

1. It's fun for the long-time posters who are constantly telling people what's wrong with their toons, and for new posters who want to delve in to this forum. We each post some profiles, look them over, and laugh to each other about how utterly horrible they are. "Wow, did you see this guy? 1.3 dagger in his MH, and he's got Hemo!"
b. It helps people learn how to play the class better. Instead of telling them how to do it (and we do so. Extensively), we show them, by example, how not to do it. Wearing druid gear and socketing your armor with STR gems? Post it here and allow everybody to comment.

You don't have to like it, and you don't have to participate in it. Besides, if you took my advice and learned to read, you'd have noticed that I was defending the profile that you posted, not flaming you for it.

Grow up, Sally.

My rogue is barely 53 and I can't wait to get to 70 and start raiding. I'm fairly new to the game (started not even 4 months ago) and my Rogue is my first character. The level grind to 70 doesn't offer much in the ways of learning to play your class in a group, but I jump in on instances when the chance arises. Looking forward to raiding, I understand that there are certain standards I have to meet. So while yes, this concept IS the ultimate flame thread, it helps new rogues like me to understand our group role in raids.

So yes, I would agree that this is an educational endeavor. After all, when I hit 70 and start raiding, I would rather know how to be the best damn rogue I can be than to just rush in without the slightest clue.

Demea ftw. I joined this forum during the first contest. Short of the stickies and Theos UI, it was the most valuable thread on this forum. This shows you exactly what not to be.

My profile was ripped apart by Tyr over a misunderstanding (scroll up), but guess what? If you have the balls to attack someone else you should be able to take it. Sometimes we don't have the whole story, but sometimes there is no justification for stupidity.

If you don't like it, don't read it. Now kindly stfu and gtfo.

BTW Demea
1 and b ftw.

It's in my signature, so it's readily available for everybody to look at. I'm not trying to hide my profile, and I'm sure as hell not trying to claim that I'm the best rogue out there, or even the best rogue on these forums. Hell, I'm not even the best rogue in my guild (in terms of gear Smiley: tongue).

Besides, personal progression isn't nearly as important as proper understanding. Just because somebody hasn't raided Hyjal/BT doesn't mean they can't theorycraft about the encounters there. Similarly, just because somebody doesn't have a level 70 rogue doesn't mean they can't learn how to properly gear and spec themselves once they reach that point.

Of course, all that said, there's no substitute for experience.

Sephiroth and the derivatives always yield good results. The really creative (read: retarded) ones are the best. I giggle every time I see one, because ever server has at least 10. Every noob thinks they're the first to try to use his name, and don't think they look stupid for settling for Sehproit (I actually saw that name back in FF XI) or some other nonsense.
