Shadowstep vs Mut for pvpFollow

#1 Oct 27 2007 at 6:53 PM Rating: Decent
hey guys i have a 65 rogue now and i plan to do arena/bg once i hit 70, my team will be 70 rogue,70 warrior,70 mage,70 priest and i see alot of rogues going mut spec but i have talked to a 70 shadowstep rogue and he says he opens up with a 4k ambush. So i figured you could in all use 3 shadowsteps in 1 fight shadowstep ambush, vanish shadowstep ambush, prep vanish shadowstep ambush

Could someone help me to decide which one i should go with for the best damage in pvp?

What EliminatorX is trying to say is, go mutilate. Shadowstep sucks in anything level 70. I'm not 100% yet, but 2.3 may change that.

4k Ambush on undergeared 70 scrubs maybe. You'll never hit above 3k post resilience, and that's not even a third of HP.

You could always go mace spec, which is easily the best and quickest learning curve for new arena players.

If someone honestly shadowsteps in arena (and isn't part of some crazy 5 lolstep rogue team), they should not breed.

Muti is an interesting spec. My opinion of it changes weekly. I am pretty sure if you don't have a good playstyle (mouse turning efficient binding) its not going to be effective.

I vote maces.

shadowstep is gonna be free of its stealth req but it has a minimum range limit. Which means if your already ontop of something you cant go and shadowstep it again without moving a distance away.

It sounds like a waste of a vanish [and a prep] to me compared to what else you can use them for.

mutilate has better damage and control at this point with it's cp generation

shadowstep isn't used for damage, it's used for antikiting...

Alright thanks everyone, im trying combat maces now but i couldnt get a good mace so i got the hwl mace, and my hwl sword was already in my bank and im way to poor for the ah so i got my hands on what i could get easiest, and i already had 12,000 honor on me so i only needed 3k more and it is AV weekend. im going to grind to 70 using combat and then see what it is made of once i hit 70 and get pretty decent gear

Just got the hungering bone cudgel from the durn quest in nagrand and now using that in off hand and the hwl mace in main hand

The thought of spamming shadowstep ambushes sounds fun ... until you think about 2 words:

When will people learn duels are meaningless...

In a 2v2 environment you're going to go up against a step rogue and a healer of some kind. If you go on the healer as mut, you're going to be kited like nothing. The same can't be said about the step rogue on your healer.
