Well I finally hit 70 and am now looking for advice for gear and strategy for beginning endgame. Here is armory link for gear and build http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Smolderthorn&n=Vulk.

My current plans are to grind Aldor (currently 1/2 between honor and revered) and get Kaylaans signet ring and the Vindicator Brand and the higher shoulder enchants. Also I am grinding for gold doing quests (I intentially never touched Netherstorm or SMV yet so the exp would be gold). I know I eventually want Latro's from BM to go with VIndicators.

So I currently haven't run very many high level instances. I just finished Durnholde so I can do BM now. My guild is small (33 total with like 5 lvl 70s) so most runs are PUG which can sometimes take hours to get. This weekend me and 2 of my 70 guildmates are gonna start arena (just to get points we know it will be slow until I gear/get better).

So what I am requesting from the greater rogue community is advice for endgame prep. While waiting for instance would time be better spent in BGs or grinding supplies for fel leather set for example.

Also I am an enchanter (285ish) and so far have only enchnated things myself (apart from honor level shoulder from aldor). What recipes should I look for myself (not from an enchanter standpoint but from helping rogue equipment) for example should I farm fiery recipe and do it myself at this level or would buying a higher enchant (mongoose etc) from another enchanter be worth it on swords that I know will be replaced.

Also general gear advice is appreciated. For example I know I need upgrades but what I don't know is from where? Should I do instnace runs with my time, live in the BGs so I have honor saved up for when the season gear switches over to honor points or should I just live in arena? Also if you have gear suggestions plz include socketing info as I still really unsure about the best way to go in sockets.

As you can see I sort of just forged ahead on my own (with the help of these forums) to hit 70 and now I am a neewbie at the endgame.

Thanks for reading my long post

PS If any of your are rich rogues on Smolderthorn, Blinkstrike is on AH for 1800 bid 2000 buyout. Or you can all just send donations hehe ;-)

Run BM to get the trinket, Latros's sword, assassination gloves. Do mech, arc, and bot. Then do Steam Vaults and so on and so forth. Do all of those until revered/get heroic key and then do them again to get badges of justice and even better gear. Also run Shattered Halls. For now if I were you I'd just go for the instance runs and do BG's. Don't even bother with arena yet.

Also I currenly rarely use throw skill. I was wondering if I should pick up another weapon for range like gun or something or just try to upgrade my knives?

Thanks again

With 1 hour a week (10 games) you can get a S2 or S3 mainhand in a couple months. That's about 8 hours total time.

Add up the time it takes to get any other weapon (for example, the rep grind for vindicator's) and you should definitely do arena.. even with crappy gear like me.

You'll want a throwing wep if you spend ANY time in BG's or Arena.

Go here for info on what drops where:

There's a lot of good stuff to be had from quests, which you've said you're starting to do now anyway.

I've been lvl 70 for a little while now, but have very little in the way of instance drops, so almost anything I have equipped, you could get the same without needing to wait for lucky instance drops.

I don't claim to be well-geared, and I haven't forked out tons of money on any of my items (although Necklace of the Deep is pricy if you don't have a guild JC), but take a look and then research the items which would be a decent upgrade for you :)

My armory

First two things that came to mind are:

1) Your MH sword is pretty grim (mainly because of the base damage range). The really good swords are hard to come by, so I picked up a 70 "of the Bandit" sword from the AH for about 20g which has a much higher damage range, and decent stat bonuses too. Alas, even on the AH decent swords seem pretty rare :(

2) Uther's Strength is a horrible trinket for you (IMO). There are a few available from quests which I'm sure would be much better. Did you have that equipped just for PvP?

I'm in no way claiming I'm some ideal to aspire to, just wanting to show you that just by cleaning up the quests, your gear should improve a lot :)

Whether you throw a weapon or not does not matter worth a a damn.

What matters greatly ore the stats on the weapon you have in your throw slot. The stat bonuses apply regardless. Thats what makes them useful.

You will learn an incredible deal by lurking here and posting nice posts (you are off to a good start).

also you dont need revered any more for heroic keys, Honored will get you the keys in 2.3.

Yeah, in PvE, it doesn't matter if you shooting stuff or throwing stuff. For PvP, a thrown weapon is a necessity.

DT FTW (although not so much after 2.3).
