i guess i'm blind or something but i can't figure out what key or keys activates stealth when it is in the tab over the action bar. i went down the list of a few lvl 70 rogs on my server and none of them had any ideas either. they all, like me, have been mousing over stealth and clicking when they go in or out of stealth.

well, i have been trying to improve my skills lately. i am mapping out my key bindings. trying to almost completely eliminate clicking and altogether lose my wonderful key board turning technique. i unbound the turn ability from the keyboard so i am forced to use the mouse now lol.

i have been reading up on different ppl's UIs and key bindings. there's a great link in the sticky about it which i have been modeling off some. great ideas for key bindings but no explanation on how to actually bind the ability to the keys. so i spent some time last night learning how to do that. thanks in part to a random person who answered my pleas for help :P

i can successfully map my action bar to whatever i want but was hoping to eliminate having stealth in the #1 spot so i could put another ability there. only problem is there seems to be no default key binding for the little tab over the main action bar? i've tried every combo of ctrl+#, alt+#, and shift +# as well as the F keys and ctrl, alt, and shift. nothing seems to activate stealth other than clicking on it or putting it on the action bar.

another question i had was how do you map additional abilities that do not fit on the action bar that is currently visible? can you do this with the stock UI or only with addons? i know programs like bongos<sp?> are popular but i try to avoid addons if i can. trying to save memory for graphics instead of tons of addons. all i use is MetaMap currently.

thanks for any advice ya'll can give. even a link to a faq on this if there is one would be awsome. i havn't been able to find any though.

You need a mod, which in and of itself will take a bit more learning.

Bongos comes in Theo UI.

I highly recommend that UI for rogues. It cured me of more bad habits than I can name.

My stealth is bound to my default oh **** key (I'm a computer tech).

i'm at work right now so i can't check the key binding list. i'll look for this "class bar" when i log on in a little bit. i don't remember seeing it but there was a lot of options in there.

as for not wanting more addons...i'm running 1gb ram and 256mb on a nothing special nvidia card. i know every addon uses up a bit more memory to run so i am nervous about trying others than what i have now. the game runs so incedibly flawless as it is now i just hate the thought of slowing down. i get absolutely zero lag. 30fps in SW even on a weekend. i'm sure someone with a highend pc gets better but i am very pleased with the performance i have.

i have to be honest. please please don't take offense but i am a bit of a purist. i try to play games as they were designed. it took me 30 lvls on my 1st character before i even got around to downloading metamap. i only use the coords and none of the other features. it usually runs at under 1mb. also coming from FFXI where it is strongly against ToS to use any 3rd party tools doesn't help my position regarding addons.

i don't knock anyone for useing them but i'm still on the fence about addons. :P

thank you all for the replies,

thank you nooblestick. this was perfect info. i had really thought this was the correct key binding for stealth but i could never get ctrl+F1 to activate it. then monkey had a breakthrough and hit the F lock key. bang! it works lol. only problem is i can't seem to find a more convenient place to bind it, that isn't taken, other than #1 space in the action bar. i am glad the mystery is solved though.

now i just need to figure out how to bind more abilities than what fits on a single action bar. or perhaps dive in and install this Bongo that everyone raves about >.>

thank,

Yes, thanks for that correction, Nooble. I knew it was in there, but I recalled it wrong and couldn't double check (school and all).
