so I noticed enchanters are the only ones that can enchant their own rings....and i know shadow priest need more +dam the other stats except sta. so is going enchanting for an extra +12 dam to each ring really worth it endgame or will it be too low of an amount to really notice?
At endgame you don't see the massive upgrades in shadow damage that you do at earlier levels. It tends to be that you get an extra 10 and 20 there when you upgrade your items. So yeah, 24 damage is nice just from being able to enchant your rings but I certainly wouldn't give up either of my professions (tailor/herb) to get it.
The reasons being that
1)enchanting is horrifically expensive to level up
2)I need to keep at least one profession that I can do some serious farming with to keep up with my raid consumables.

I'd say...
If you have enchanting at high level.. go get the enchants.
But dont start Enchanting from 1 just to get it..
(and btw, if you want to the enchanting wont be that expensive to level. I did low level instances on my rogue to DE the green stuff and so... Im currently at skill 225 after two days.. came to a stop now, no really good instance to go and get the dust, and it's expensive as ¤¤¤¤ at ah..)

I also considered dropping my alchemy (tailoring is other proff.) to be able to max my damage, but in the end I decided that while +24 damage would be pretty nice, I wouldn't want to be without a solid flow of money, which any spriest knows is very important if you're raiding

i got to 300 on chanting and never spent a dime started at lvl 47 i just did a ton of run with my freands mage and sold the shards from doing instances and bought dust so if u call that spending money thats fine but i dotn see how if i was not chanter could not have gotten shards
