I have a level 17 mage, so I have quite a while to go yet, but I'm wondering what tactics are best against various types of mobs - specifically other casters.
Melee mobs are the easiest as they can be frozen in place, and hunter-type mobs can be killed by standing in their 'dead zone' while they're frozen, but there doesn't seem to be a way to nullify casters and I always take a hit to my health when I fight them.
Is it always going to be a 'dps him with spells before he can kill me' kind of scenario with them, or is there something better waiting for me? Will it be possible to kite them? A spell interrupt sure would be nice :P

For me personally caster mobs were always a pain in the ***. And you won't get a spell interrupt for a while now called counterspell . What I always did was group up with someone when I am fighting these mobs.

CounterSpell is coming soon, that should be a big help. You'll get fire and frost wards as well, which help with fire and frost caster mobs. But the main tactic is always to just nuke them down before they can kill you/before CS wears off.
Dampen magic will help as well.
