Could somebody please link, or state what armour sets the abbreviations stand for warlocks, i constantly hear S2 or T5 etc and because im still on the way to 70 i have no idea which sets they are.(ok i have some idea on some) especially because typing said abbreviations into a search reveals nothing.

is there a page somewhere with all the PVP/PVE epics linked with thier abbreviation? thanks in advance.

PvE sets:
D1/T0: Dreadmist Raiment (Dungeon Set 1)

D2/T0.5: Deathmist Raiment (Dungeon Set 2)

T1: Felheart Raiment (Tier 1)

D1/T0: Nemesis Raiment (Tier 2)

D1/T0: {Plagueheart Raiment (Tier 3)

These are for 60 and totally outclassed by all Outland Gear.

D3/T3.5 (rarely): Oblivion Raiment
(Dungeon Set 3)

T4: Voidheart Raiment (Tier 4)

T5: Corruptor Raiment (Tier 5)

T6: Malefic Armor (Tier 6)

These are all for 70 and totally outclass all other Outland gear.

PvP Honor Sets: While Gladiator's sets are the same for Alliance and Horde, these sets have a version for each, with differing names and graphics but identical stats.

(no idea): Lieutenant Commander's Dreadgear (PvP Rare)

Marshal's/Warlord's: Field Marshal's Threads (PvP Epic)

These are for level 60s and are outclassed by Outlands greens.

GM/HWL: Grand Marshal's Dreadgear (PvP 70)

This is for level 70s, and is sort of an in-between between normal gear and Arena gear.

Gladiator's Sets: These sets have two versions: one is designed for Affliction Warlocks with lots of Stamina, the other sacrifices some of that HP for Spell Crit for Destrolocks.

S1: Gladiator's Dreadgear (Season One Normal) OR Gladiator's Felshroud (Season One Crit)

S2/Merc: Merciless Gladiator's Dreadgear (Season Two Normal) OR Merciless Gladiator's Felshroud (Season Two Crit)

S3/Venge (?): Vengeful Gladiator's Dreadgear (Season Three Normal) OR Vengeful Gladiator's Felshroud (Season Three Crit)

These are the pinnacle of PvP gear. Note that Season 3 is currently only obtainable on Public Test Realms.

Crafted Sets:

FSW: Frozen Shadoweave (woot!)

SF (?): Spellfire, Wrath of (for retarded Destrolocks)

BC (?): Battlecast Garb (for PvP)

SS (?): Spellstrike Infusion (for IMBA DPS)

destruction locks do much better than affliction locks in heroics and raids. there is something about 7k crits that just make me wonder why people bother with dots.

Because they're instant? Because with that much Spell Damage Curse of Doom is like another nuke that auto-crits?

@phobea:
Because maybe Destruction-specc only starts to make sense, once you are past karazhan.

Affli-locks by far out-dmg destruction locks up until their gear gets to around 1,2kdmg at leas 20% crit without talents and at least a 150+spellhit and even than an equally geared and skilled Allfiction lock will still do the same amount if not more damage.
Raidbuffed i crit at around 6,4-6,8k where my max. crit on a normal boss was 7,3k
