Subtlety: Revival or Retarded?Follow

#27 Oct 24 2007 at 12:35 PM Rating: Excellent
Have you ever tried something else then daggers?

I was daggers at 60, loved it. I switched to mace kicking and screaming at the end of S1... and it grew on me. I just can't see myself trying to get behind a target to do damage anymore.

I don't understand your emotional attachment to daggers.

Maybe it's that nobody can feel rogueish with a pair of sledgehammers hanging off their belt.
#29 Oct 24 2007 at 12:44 PM Rating: Excellent
That's the most assinine reason to do anything I've ever heard.

I didn't feel very roguish in my thurd green S1 armor either, I still used it because it kicked *** and I like kicking *** more then looking like my college days D&D Rogues.

Seriously. If being 'roguish' was a criteria, we'd all still be in Assassin Dungeon 3 set or S2, because T4/S1 sure as hell doesn't feel roguish (purple space ninja with a clown mask 4tl) and nether does T6/S3.

You still get Stealth. You still get all our stuns, control, damage... the only difference is that you don't have to bust your *** to get behind people.

/agree

But truth be told, we can't three shot anyone anymore with daggers. That was the beauty of them to begin with.

In, quick kill, and out.

Wishing for the old days.....

I don't agree with it, but it's a lament I've heard before.

I'm a daggers rogue and can't see myself changing anytime soon.

That being said, we suck. We have to bust our *** to the things other rogues can do anywhere anytime.

Back on subject however, Sub shouldn't be daggers. Think about it, daggers is the assassination tree, swords and maces are the combat tree.

I think sub should be fist weapons.

Flame away.

Claw is combat too.

Unless you have a weapon specialisation talent, there's no real difference between sword/mace/claw.

But the thing is... you only suck because you're letting yourself suck. I never understood the scrub mentality and I guess I never will.

Well there is a difference between daggers and everything else - the handful of abilities that are dagger reliant.
#35 Oct 24 2007 at 12:56 PM Rating: Excellent
Yeah, that was a lapsus, went back and edited it.

Ugh, I kind of want to re-new my subscription to blizzard now that this patch is coming out(or just do a private server >.>)

Eh, I don't play Warcraft to pwn (usually). I started playing because the rogue class seemed fun and the most like a ninja I could picture. I just can't see a ninja taking a freaking hammer and smashing people's faces in with it. Depending on how I fare in season 3, with everyone and their mom having 400+ resilience though...

Like I said, I may just quit before I switch to maces.

Before you quit, petition for the Tauren race to be able to become rogues.

(*sound of stealth heard nearby...* *clip... clop... clip... clop...* [Sound of hooves.])

Well, I may pick them up next season. I just got the merciless shanker and am still interested on seeing if blizz will buff daggers to some extent before the end of the patch. I was even reluctant in speccing combat mutilate and I have loved that decision ever since I did it. I don't know, maybe I'm just being needlessly stubborn clinging to an ideal I want so deeply to be true.

I have screenshots of me as Tauren Rogue. Its awesome to drop stealth towering over some ally...

So if daggers aren't good for most rogues, who are daggers good for? Ni hao?

Daggers are still very very good for PvP. If the muti style of play makes you happy, you should go for it.

Well this should get me flamed...

Muti is just so much fun compared to a deep combat builds. Especially in BG's and World PVP. I just can't see speccing to something so horribly boring (like combat maces) just to do well in Arena. There's so much more to this game than arena imo.

I'd rather sit in the 1700-1800 bracket forever with my daggers and Muti build, then spec to some lame assed build like combat maces to break 2000.

I was muti for S1. It was fun.

But ultimately, I like winning more then I like losing. :P

Combat mace is also a better raid build so... yeah.

i believe its called a 'period'

or maybe a 'dot'

maybe a 'pixel'

which would make it a small 'square'

or even a very small 'circle'

your guess is as good as mine! :D
