Fast question on hybrid buildFollow

I took this build from RPZips FAQ up top here...

Just a fast Q about it.

As you can see it is lacking shield slam, and that ability is HUGE for me (as a lvl 70 prot warrior)

Unfortunately, I am trying to grind mats for my lionheart wpn, but at the same time, want to do some instances for other gear, while OTing kara for my guild.

Clearly...They are all over...On one hand I need dps to grind quests and mats..On the other I need high threat and tanking abilities. Ive got the gear to take on both roles, but it just raised these Q's in my mind...

Will this build be able to handle the tanking part as far as normal lvl 70 instances go?

I know in 2.3 BT and MS are getting a good threat buff, but will it be comparable to shield slam?

And how would this build stack up in Heroics? Would a deeper prot build be necessary?

Thanks in advance

Depending on your gear, BT and MS can equal SS for threat, but SS scales 'mo betta' with real tanking gear than BT or MS does.

the TM with extra threat thing is just a toy, imho. maybe it will help with leveling and pre 70 instances. but end game you should not be trying to build threat with MS or BT.

It looks like 3/3 TM adds 240 base threat to BT/MS, which makes them competitive (and worth keeping on cooldown) when tanking.

This build can easily handle normal-mode instances and should be fine for most Heroics (I wouldn't be trying Heroic Shattered Halls in this, although I wouldn't want to do Heroic Shattered Halls again ever so that's just me). You retain (most) of the mitigation and with the TM changes you shouldn't be too far behind in terms of threat build in heroics.

If your primary focus is 5-mans, you should consider dropping points out of Toughness and investing them into Imp. Revenge. It'll drop your mitigation a bit but Imp. Revenge is amazingly good if the mobs are stunnable.
