As a new hunter in Outland (no "s") did you guys do your rep grinding in instances or questing. I haven't done many quests yet, and on my warlock I missed all the instances entirely. I haven't run many instances with my hunter except strat, blackrock, and scholo. I don't have a very good comfort level with her in instance running yet.

Most of my gear is still Azeroth stuff, so I don't know if I would survive in any of these. Any advice or stories appreciated.

P.S. My skills are skinning/leatherworking

every time I've leveled a character I've thought about doing the low level instances up to honored and then doin all the quests so that I could quest through the crappy part of the honor grind...sadly though I've never done this. I always get impatient and grind quests to 70 then go back and grind the higher level instances in each zone.

Ok, back before they nerfed the PVP quest in HH:

I ran with a group of 4 others, and three of them would be gone for the day, so the other and I would run the PVP quest all day.

Now, right after BC came out the Horde and Alliance had a truce (this was on a PVP server), to were they would capture one, then leave it, and the alliance would go in and take it, and there would be this revolving capture system for all the towers, so you could do the quest 30+ times a day.

Now here is the kicker:

It used to give (I dont knwo if it still does, I havnt done it lately) 250 Rep per turn in, AND 6600 XP per turn in.

I leveled from 62-64 just on that quest alone :)

that was good for anyone that got to take advantage of it. I didn't realize it till the nerf bat had swung hard :(

Oh, and I was running with a group of gear obsessed whores, so yes I did quite a bit of instancing. They were so obsessed because of the fact it was sooo much of an upgrade from Azeroth stuff...

That is sorta the situation I'm in with my lock...backtracking to grind for rep...grrrrrr....I feel stupid sometimes as a 70 in a low lvl area, on the other hand, I'm never the only 70 there...LOL

It's a daily now, though, and 150 rep each time.

Anyway, if I were levelling 60-70 again, I would try to run those Hellfire dungeons as soon as I could. Probably try to get whatever quests give nice items for completing them in the dungeons, and then run them. Some chances for nice loot, and good reputation, and it'd save having to go through Shattered Halls so many times at 70.

At level 60 you'll survive ramparts/blood furnace.
You'll have more trouble surviving the idiots that cant adjust to the new and harder instances then pretty much anything inside the instance.

you should be fine but if you want to run a few quests for some upgraded gear (eg adding +25-35 STA) then go ahead.

though as many people say, a dps that dies is probably his own fault. so if you're concerned about your HP, do the dps thing you do but keep aware of the tank's aggro. in fact this would be great if every dps did this, but especially in your case, you can still do the instances, so don't worry about it.
