Last night my good RL buddy (who is also my main priest in our guild and by extension my main healer) were helping some friends in our allied guild get some Black Morass runs done.

I didn't mind it, I needed Revered for my Continuum Blade and I was really close to rep so I decided to just tank for them for the free rep for a few hours. First BM run when I arrived (they had a different tank while I was at school, when I came back they switched me in) and we go through the first run at BM and we win.

Aeonus (the final boss) decided to have some fun and he used his Arcane Explosion, followed by his Time Stop, and then he crit me THREE DAMN TIMES in a row, I quickly went down and then we proceeded to wipe. However, the shield was at 100% so we had enough time to run back, rebuff, and fight him again, this time we won and I was able to get within 900 of Revered (yay!).

So, we run a OHB for a bit because I wanted the sword and we were waiting for fifth as our Lock had to leave, so we did OHB up the second boss twice (still no tanking ring on first guy =( ) I get Revered and buy my blade and the Timewarden's leggings.

So then our fifth arrives, while we were clearing and I was playing with my new sword I decided to look up the final boss drops. We get to him and while we're buffing I realized that he drops the http://www.wowwiki.com/Legplates_of_the_Righteous

Upon having spent 30g on the Timewarden's leggings, during the fight I kept saying to myself "boy if he drops those legs I am gonna feel like an ***."

And when we did that run and killed him... BAM! http://www.wowwiki.com/Legplates_of_the_Righteous

-_-;;;

For what I have noticed the time keepers legs are actually better then the other one due to the fact that the time keepers legs add + to dodge ratting. And with the right sockets you can get the + block socket bonus. Plus there are gems to get the def. rating up and the time legs have way more stam. The are way better tanking legs then the righteous ones. The righteous ones are better for a healer then a tank.

the gems that I think would be best are 2x http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?witem=24062&locale=enUS;source=live

and 1x

I was thinking the same thing, I had a JC with us (a good buddy of mine) and he tossed me some def rating gems and I tried them out. While I did like their performance, I was having an issue of holding threat, my spell damage was far too low and I was burning mana way too fast since I wasn't holding threat as easily. With the my sword and the extra mana I was having a much easier time holding threat. Plus looking at the set is tempting me a great deal, tonight I plan on getting Shattered Halls done because those hands are remarkably better than the ones I have now.

I got the crystal forged sword off the AH for about 200g and that is a great tanking sword put a +40 spell dmg. on it and you are good to go with spell dmg.

I just got the continuum blade, with +40 spell damage I much prefer that. But my spell damage just seems too low me to still, also when I compared the numbers of the def rating to dodge rating the difference was that it pushed my block and dodge over 10% (not a 10% increase, as in my chance for both was over 10%) while the Timewarden's didn't push it over 10%.

Continuum Blade and Cystalforged Sword have the exact same spell damage and Stamina. The difference is CFS has 3 less Intellect and has 11 Block Rating instead of 8 spell hit rating, making it more suitable for a Paladin tank. Of course I wouldn't say go spend the money for a CFS since you have Continuum already, but if you happen upon it, it is slightly better.

As for legs: I used the Righteous set to tank regular 5-mans, but when I was gearing up to tank in Kara I swapped out the Righteous for the Timewarden's. Yes you lose a bit of spell damage, but they are better for tanking the "big stuff". Much more Stamina, gives some Dodge rating, and the Defense can be made back with gems. When you can afford to lose the spell stats, it's a much better choice.

I'd rather (and do) have the Timewarden's anyways. Spelldamage, while important, is not necessary to stack > 200 of it at your level. I was tanking with 161 for the longest time, and I just now got a spelldamage enchant on my gloves to make it 181.

With my Timewarden's, 3 +12 stam gems, and the +40 stamina leg enchant, I have about 133 stamina (not including my 6% buff from talents) from just that piece alone.

Yes I recently switched to the timewarden leggings for my prot set myself.
