New addition to 2.3 relating to Unbreakable WillFollow

#1 Oct 23 2007 at 8:32 AM Rating: Decent
Yesterday (10/22), the 2.3 PTR patch notes were updated, and this change was added to the World Environment section (way down near the end of the post):

  • Creature AI has been changed to no longer prioritize attacking unfeared targets over feared targets.

  • This will hugely affect the Discipline talent Unbreakable Will (Increases your chance to resist Stun, Fear, and Silence effects by 3/6/9/12/15%). Most commentary on this talent that I've read says to avoid taking it because instance bosses would do mass fears and then target any group members who resisted.

So once 2.3 is live and assuming this change goes in, there don't seem to be any negatives for taking this talent, correct?

This was mostly an issue during 5-mans, and if you're properly geared, the right level, and had a decent group, it still wasn't a problem (though, granted, most groups don't have all of those >.>) In raids, it was non-issue entirely, and was actually a very good talent to take (combined with Shadow Protection, I resist ~50% of any raid silences, which is *really* nice). This simply makes tanking 5-mans who fear much easier.
