Do PvPers not need + hit?Follow

Hi all,

Half of my gear is now epic pvp stuff so I should be getting happier and happier... BUT at the same time I lose more and more + hit since both the veteran stuff from BGs and the arena stuff has tons of resi, AP, crit, agi, endu... but no + hit.

Is it not an issue? (I would guess it is). How do you address it?

Thanks,

nostra

It is most definitely an issue. However, you can make it a non-issue by taking 5/5 precision. Since almost all of the good PvP builds have at least 20 points in Combat (full combat or muti/combat), you don't need to worry much about +hit. Anything over 5% only affects white damage, which is not as important for PvP as it is for PvE. In a full combat PvP build, +hit is still going to be important because a good chunk of your damage is going to be white damage. An armory link would be helpful to see how you've specced.

If you choose to not take precision in your PvP build, you want to make sure you have at least +5% to hit from gear to make sure that you never miss your special attacks. Make sure that you have this. Nothing sucks worse than missing.

I guess Blizz doesn't give +hit to PvP stuff because:
- it's less important than other stats for PvP;
- they want a clear distinction between PvP and PvE gear (to force you to play a lot to get both...).

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah, I forgot to mention: I do pvp exclusively, so whatever is important for pve doesn't matter to me at all.

And sorry, I didn't give my armory link cause I was pretty sure my build is decent. As you can see, I have 5/5 precision.

Here you are anyway:

http://armory.wow-europe.com./character-talents.xml?r=Cho%27gall&n=Ayen

Note that I'm currently "playing" with muti which explains why I have these two very average 71.7 dps daggers. My initial pvp build was the 16/45/00 build that is linked in my sig with Vindicator's Brand (http://armory.wow-europe.com./item-info.xml?i=29124) and Latro's (http://armory.wow-europe.com./item-info.xml?i=28189).

I changed from Combat/Swords to Muti cause I felt that resilience wasn't really an issue at my level (I received a 1334 2v2 team and we're raising it with a friend). First week we went up to 1440 and second week to 1510. Once I start feeling that resilience is an issue, I will probably go Combat/Maces.

Right now, with my Muti build, I have about 25% crit and lots of my damage comes from yellow damage, so I guess as you said that +hit isn't really an issue. When I go back to Combat/Maces however, this might be problematic... If anybody is in this situation and can give me a tip, that would be great.

Thanks,
nostra

As a side note, S3 pants, chest and head all have +12hit on them.

Good news, thanks. Those are indeed the next items I'll want from Arena Points while I think that I can do with S1 weapons that I'll honor grind.

Thanks,
