I've been thinking of having a talent that helps us like Cloak of Shadows, but also with physical attacks.

Maybe call it Doppleganger, same animation and effects as CoS. Creates a double of the rogue and for 5 seconds it makes you immune to stuns, snares, disorients, magic, etc and absorbs 25% damage at lvl 70 and 50% at lvl 80 when we get there.

Just buff it up a little. I know I might get ripped, or get told to learn to play my class, but nothing is as bad as removing the effects of a snare or magic effect to automatically be intercepted by a warrior and proceed to get smacked around. Most classes get some sort of extra mitigation; Pally bubbles, Warriors Enrage? I don't know they get red and can't be stunned and the list goes on

I don't know just was thinking about buffing CoS some for the new expansion...

let me know what you think

I think improved sprint does kinda the same thing, and couple that with vanish and the current CoS, you have the effects you are looking for.

Fleeted-footed also has some of the qualities that you are describing.

You played a ninja in FFXI, didn't you? Because you are essentially asking for a weak version of Utsusemi, which I agree would be nice even on a 5 min cooldown.

Of course, if Blizz included something similar to Utsusemi, Rogues would be the new tanks (just like ninjas in FFXI). Actually I wouldn't mind that as I loved ninja, and in the 40-50 instance circuit my rogue somehow always ended up "tanking" anyway since our guild doesn't have any "tanks" our level. But that's an off topic discussion.

Actually I never played FFXI, I left off at X. But the idea came about seeing as in a PVP context we rely on resilience to mitigate damage if I'm not mistaken. I am no authority on this as I am new to arenas. All classes except Rogues have some form of physical damage mitigation whether bubbles that last for a few hits or even armor upgrades for 4 classes, and those bubbles beat out having nothing at all. Again I might get told that I suck at being a rogue, but nothing frustrates me more than using CoS which takes care of casters and magic which is perfectly fine for those few seconds, but then just get intercepted by a warrior, or concussion shotted by a hunter, etc etc. Yeah it goes with the territory, but it'd be nice to get a bit of a buff, and a CD on it is fine with me like a 3 min deal or so. Anyway, I am taking Nyquil so I apologize if I don't make sense or for grammar :/

And to answer Arun, yeah we have trinket and imp sprint and fleet footed. Still I am talking just about buffing CoS to include physical incapacitations for a bit. Just reduce the beating we take for those 5 seconds and prevent us from getting stopped half way to killing the healer.

Another reason I having been thinking of this is that lvl 80 is coming in the next expansion, and Rogues seem to be pretty low on the totem pole for modifications to the class.

-edited for scatterbrainedness (not a word... so what?)
