Of course it is. I am a genious, and thus all my points are good. Not to mention that I always "I like cake". So there!

Anyone who doesn't catch what I am referring to, may have failed the intarwebz. In that case, burning the cable modem is the only way to ensure that you don't pollute it with negative IQ points, lowering the collective intelligence of the world by humongous amounts

I stopped using the Armory once I realised it was powered entirely by starved hamsters sustained entirely by the tears of programmers whipped for their failure to create a database interface that doesn't fail.

would I make the North test?

Caldone: For Mana Efficiency I require full Thrill of the Hunt on my Hunters. I also like to see the Slaying talents maxed, to help offset the fact that Surv Hunters aren't as high on DPS as a BM/MM Hunter. And I most certainly don't see the point of Imp. Winglip on a Raid Hunter.

KDenelor: You pass with flying colors, other than that your specc seems to be closer tailored to PvP than Raid PvE. I personally dislike both Deflection and Counterattack, but it is a personal choice. And my own test has little or no bearing on yourself. You are as far as I can tell much further into end-game than myself. The North Stat Requirement is merely for Karazhan and Gruul.

ya speccing SV brought some tough choices. I wanted so badly to max thrill and EW both but it just wasn't hapening so I left one off EW. I run over 40% raid buffed crit so as it turns out it's always up so no harm done. because I'm virtually never in 5 mans anymore and not required to trap I traded those for the pvp tallents since it's just filler either way and I do enjoy pvp.

If I am ever grouped with a hunter who's EW can excede mine though I'm goin back to BM faster than you can fire off an arcane shot. It really is the dominant dps raid spec.

Definitely. I would specc BM myself, but my raidgroup Hunters don't have the patience to farm Agility gear, or simply doesn't like the specc, so I'm spending my own days as Survival. Not that I mind, I like it alot.

Edit:
I am running with 5/20/36 myself at the moment. Squeezing as much DPS as possible out of the Surv Hunter, while completely sacrificing PvP viability and some of the Fiveman usefulness. Going to hit 0/21/40 later. Losing a little bit of DPS through Imp AotH, and gaining Scattershot, Wyvern Sting and better Trap Cooldowns. Still not a good PvP specc, but it will at least give me a chance to help my team out without sacrificing too much Raid DPS. Also, I've found Heroics to be slightly punishing with a Raid Specc, since I have fewer options available to me with the lack of CC talents.

So, this thread is still going? It's going to need an index pretty soon. Caldone can PDF it for future reference.

On another note, just ding'ed 67 yesterday, at this rate I just might ding 70 right before WotLK comes out.... LOL!

or

So that is isn't so much of a OMG shock

If you take Master Tactician, you might as well take Readiness as well. Combined with Rapid Killing, it will allow you around three Rapid Fire or more on a bossfight, and an Oh ****! button for when your trap breaks or anything of the sort. I have personally never need Imp. Feign, but it is of course your call. Unless you are aiming for PvP, maxing out Survivalist isn't needed. Those points can go elsewhere.

And ask yourself, do you really use Snake/Immo/Explosive traps often enough that one single point in Entrapment will ever actually achieve something when you need it? I'd personally put that point in Savage Strikes for that one driveby Raptor+Wingclip.

For Heroics (and to a lesser degree Moroes/Other raid encounters) I would love two points in Trap Mastery. In Heroics I see a disturbing amount of Tickbreaks even with the talent. In a raid, I see Survival Instincts as a must-have. Survival Hunters are already lower than BM as DPS. No point skipping 4% higher Attack Power when it only costs you two points.

This is all just advice of course, and you need to tailor your specc to your own needs and desires.

Heh, that is almost my own specc, only with slight modifications. Yeah, I'd accept that specc for a Survival Hunter in my raidgroup without hesitating if he had the mp5 to offset the lack of a full Thrill of the Hunt. Good specc indeed. I might have removed Scatter Shot and put it in Readyness instead for a Raidbuild. Scatter Shot is used pretty much never in a raid, but Readyness would smack up another Oh ****! trap/feign/insert skill here. Not to mention another Rapid Fire for bosses.

But if you are happy with that build, go for it.

Oh? Never felt the need for it at all. The only time anything wants to brain me in raids would be if I either play while drunk and forget all about threat, or the tank dies. Well, as I said it is entirely up to you. I am in fact planning to get Scatter Shot myself, but not for Raiding purposes. More of a Fiveman/PvP thing.
#74 Oct 25 2007 at 1:07 PM Rating: Decent
I used to use scatter all the time in heroics back when I was MM. it is very usefull if a trap breaks a second too early or if a caster pulls agro. hit em with scatter and give the tank an extra second or two to catch up and taunt.

QFT!

Thats my whole thing, I am not just raiding, and not just 5man Heroic, I do both, so trying to find a middleground is hard.
