I am sure this topic was all the buzz when BC came out, but seeing as I didn't have the game then, I have since missed it. I broke down all the gear available to a Rogue from these two factions and this is what I came up with:

Aldor

Rare Ring at Revered
Inscription = +30 AP / +10 crit
Quest = Chest
Quest = Shoulders or Ring (would choose shoulders)
Quest = Helm
Quest = Ring

Scryer

Epic Dagger at Exalted
Rare Pants at Revered
Inscription = +20 AP / +15 crit
Quest = Belt (better than the Aldor shoulders)
Quest = Bracers (Aldor Helm is better)

So, Aldor, has the better quest rewards in terms of quanity, Scryer has the better rep reward, although the dagger is a bit fast for my spec. As far as crafting goes,as a leatherworker, neither has anything I really care about, although Aldor has the better armor kit pattern if you had to choose between the two.

So which of these two would be more beneficial to a mutilate spec dagger rogue with elemental leather working?

You forgot about the Vindicator's Brand, possibly the best sword for a rogue pre-Kara.

Yea, I used that article to compile my list. I saw the Vindicator, but did not include it as I am mutilate spec which leads me to the Scryer dagger.

You pretty much answered the question yourself...Aldor is the superior choice.

I doubt that you'll be Mutilate forever. Besides, DPS is the ultimate goal. You should pick your spec based on available weapons, not the other way around.

I chose Scryer for 2 reasons. I had always been a dagger rogue and was attracted to the dagger at exalted, and I'm an alchemist and Scryer had a alch recipe.

It turns out that the scryer dagger is pretty much crap, so I haven't bothered to grind to exalted. I've also switched to combat swords.

In the end, it doesn't really matter. Neither has something that is much better than the other. If you're going to be raiding (even kara), then neither of the exalted weapons are going to be that great. They're nice to start with, but you'll likely replace them rather quickly.

You left out the shoulder enchants, the main reason for grinding out exalted with either Scryers or Aldor. Either way when you're Mut you should be going Aldor anyway because a good epic MH sword is hard to come by.
