Zhuntermod: Anyone Familiar With This?Follow

So yesterday, in my quest to enhance my WoW experience via addons, I came across this. Zhuntermod, a compilation of Hunter-related mods. To be honest, I'm a little confused by it. All it's really given me so far that I can readily understand is an auto-strip icon for when I FD (which, coincidentally, doesn't actually do anything "auto", I have to click it before FDing to strip my gear), 4 icons on the left of my screen for primary aspects, traps, tracking, and a timer bar for my auto-shot.

I have accessed the mod's main menu but, well...nothing makes sense. I don't really "see" all the advantages it is supposed to give me. So here I come, asking you the Hunter community, for your help. Does anyone use this? And if so, do you know of a website with explicit instructions that can explain to me how to actually make use of all its features?

Thank you for reading and sorry if this ends up being a repeat of a previous thread.

I've tried out a few different mods aimed specifically at hunters, but I just find that a combination of Bongos, Xperl, Scrolling Combat Text and good ol' home-brew Macros to be more flexible than any set of hunter-specific add-ons. I also use Cosmos and FuBar, but those are great for everything.

I just downloaded Bongos tonight. OMG. It made things so much nicer looking, as well as streamlined and efficient. Hell who am I kidding, I just love the extra space available on screen. My only problem has been that Bongos took away all my casting bars, but I fixed that on the advice of a guildmate and downloaded a castbar mod.

At risk of derailing my own thread, I also have downloaded and am using Cartographer (with this odd error message at login saying "cannot locate guild positions folder"), Sentry-something (can't remember the name, I mainly got it for tracking horde in BGs), Itemrack, Omen and Banzaialert (kind of redundant, since all Banzai does is alert me to when I get or lose aggro).

But yea, so far I'm not impressed with Zhuntermod. But it could very well just be because I don't yet understand how it works and what it does. It could very well be lifechanging, or it could just suck total monkey balls. I do not know...

The best advise I have for how to configure zhunter...

type /zhunter
in this windown, drop down through each addon and disable them all.
enable the autoshot timer and trcking traps you want.

you can move everything using Alt +drag

I find it useful for compiling all the skills I don't want taking space on my bars, into small collapsible sidebars. The Beast Lore, Taming and various pet related skills I never use. Aspects are also accessed mainly through these bars, instead of taking space in my normal bars.

Yeah, the expanding bars for traps and aspects and so on are pretty nice.

Also I think it adds an autoshot timer, plus the auto-strip option. And something to turn off aspect of the cheetah if it's on and you get dazed.

I used it up until I switched to Bartender and cyCircled, and then it didn't look good with my UI any more.

God! Dude, you are so getting the medical bill I just got from busting my tailbone when I fell out of my seat laughing at this!

Check out the thread "Screenie for no damn reason"

I am trying to find something to unclutter my screen, but at the same time I have been playing with the default UI since day1 and am more than reluctant to have to use something new.

zhunter is nice for common access hunter tasks now that I have it working. Still has some bugs though. I only use certain parts of it.

I think the only thing I need now is omen, no clue where to get it, but looking for it.

I got CT mod working again, only use parts of it though. So, between CTMod, zhunter, titanbar and hopefully omen, I have the interface I want now. I'm much happier with the way the character works.

Love the automount feature of titanbar... really cool.

Here is how I have mine set up. Move the 4 buttons to where you want with Alt + drag (I think). Mine are at the bottom right hand side of my screen. Open the menu with /zhunter. Go to, say, traps first. On that first screen, I have it set to expand on mouseover and to grow up. So, when I mouse over the trap button, it expands upwards and shows me all the traps. Then, click the More (?) button. Forget if that's the right name, but whatever button takes you to the second screen. Here, you can change the order the traps appear. I have it set to Freezing Trap in the first spot so it is always visible.

Then just go do the same thing for the other buttons. Obviously, if you want the buttons on the right hand side of your screen, you could set them to expand left, etc. I love this add-on, it saves soooo much space on my bars.

I do disable the auto shot timer though, but that's because I have the Quartz cast bar on all my characters instead, it is much better.

Another useful function is the pet bar. I think it is automatically set this way, but without expanding it, when you pet is alive, it has mend pet as the button, when he's dead, it has res, and if he is just dismissed it has call. One button that changes automatically to do multiple tasks.

Bartender and Zhunter are the best ways to save space on your bars for a Hunter.
