hey i was just wondering, while i am in cat form a regular hit does like 20-25 (just hit lvl 20). I was just wondering if this was normal damage for someone my level. My wep kinda sucks its like 30-32, some pos staff ive had since like 14, does that affect the damage? b/c i heard somewere it didnt? sorry if its a stupid question, thnks for help

While in cat form the only things that affect your damage are stats on a weapon (Str and Agi). Weapon speed does nothing for shapeshifted druids (As they are using their Paws/Claws...never seen a bear swinging a mace before).
Seeing how you just hit 20 i suggest going to deadmines and picking up smites mighty hammer.

No your weapon damage has nothing to do with your attacks while in Baer/cat form other than if you had AGI or STR on said weapon upping your AP. thge only reason that a druid even HAS a weapon is for the stats (from a feral point of veiw).
is there any reason why druids always use staffs? or is it just b/c they want to look cool?
You just want the best stats you can get on a weapon. And for the most part the higher stats come from 2-handers. It is possible to get some nice stats from a 1h weapon and an offhand. Druids cannot dual weild, can't use sheilds, so that leaves us with Misc. offhand items such as orbs. While they are out there it is kinda tough to find a 1h/orb combo that matches the stats on a 2h weapon for Feral. For Balance/Resto I imagine the options are much greater as most of the instance Misc offhands I remember being caster based.
Furthermore the only 2h weapons Druids can use are staffs and Maces. In the earlier levels Maces are very popular for Feral, as they have alot of melee heavy stats on them. But 58+ you start seeing +Feral AP on staffs which is why most people use staffs.

DUH. Is there any other reason. Actually no its not because we want to look cool. Theres 2 major reasons I can think of.
1. Staffs are generally have the best stas for casters. See-ing that there is 2 "caster trees" for druids (Balance and Restoration) its very possible that the majority of druids you see are casters.
2. Well staffs seem to be the biggest providers of Feral AP. So alot of feral druids seem to tend to stick with staves as well. As a matter of fact the "Pillar of Ferocity" is considered to be the best tanking weapon there is. Though druid tanks in my guild say that you it the mitigation cap by the time you can obtain it.
That Pillar of Ferocity is just sick.
