Do I have to be at least Neutral with Ogri'la to have the Depleted Sword drop and to turn it into the Crystalforged Sword?

Thanks.

You can be of any faction to buy it off the AH.

Drop? No, but will you have enough apexis shards? Go ahead and do the 5 5-mans to get neutral though, dailies is a great source of income.

Another aside, you can just buy the completed sword off the AH like I did.

I've been chasing that sword for almost a month now and still no joy. I almost had it once but I couldn't afford to get into a bidding war and lost my chance. Being under fiscal lockdown while I get that 5k for my epic flier blows.

I was trying to farm that sword for about a month and a half before I got tired of it and just spent the 200g to buy it off the AH. Then I put a +spell dmg. enchant on it and I have a weapon that will last me until SSC. At least that is want I have heard around the forums.

Chances are you won't get the SSC sword because there will be so many people who need it more than a tankadin (if your guild is smart, anyway). It can do OK until you get the mace from MH/BT trash tho, which is what I'm trying to get my hands on right now

One of the best tanking weapons you can get without raiding is the mace arena reward, [wowitem=32963]Merciless Gladiator's Gavel[/wowitem]

However, if you start getting arena points now, it would probably be more beneficial to wait for season 3, as there will probably be something even better.
