PvP Maces vs SwordsFollow

#1 Oct 18 2007 at 12:20 PM Rating: Decent
Hmmm - why CombatMaces are soooooooooo damn good for PvP?
What about CombatSwords?

Mace Specialization: 20 Points in Combat Required
5 Point Talent, +2/4/6/8/10 Maces Skill, +1/2/3/4/5% chance to stun your target for 3 seconds when struck with your mace.

Sword Specialization: 20 Points in Combat Required
5 Point Talent, +1/2/3/4/5% chance to get an additional swing when dealing damage with your sword.

Is this 5% stun chance, instead of 5% add swing chance, really the difference between wining and losing in PvP???

WEll actually yea it can be because in pvp ur mostly gonna be focusing on stunlocking ur target instead of doing extra damage... add swing chance is nice but a little extra damage wont go as far as a little extra stun in pvp.

Three big reasons:

1.) stun
2.) Stun
3.) STUN

Few things:

1 - Stuns is not affected by Resilience AT ALL. The sword's spec 2nd swing is.

2 - Stuns offer a much greater strategical opportunity. A lucky stun can allow to reposition yourself. Can prevent someone with BoF from going away. It can interupt a spell when your kick/Ks/gouge are down. All sword spec do is more damage.

3 - The 10 weapon skill from Mace means you save 2 points, which can be the difference between getting some key talent and not getting them.

All in all, it adds up.

Sword can do well in pvp, but mace is clearly better.

Swords is still adequate for PvP. I use swords until I pickup two welfare season 1 maces after 2.3. Maces are just better.
