Lvl70 instance questions/problems.Follow

Hi, I haven't been doing a lot of instances, so I have a few questions regarding this.

I'm a dps dw warrior, lvl70. My crit rating is 25%, my AP is 1200+ somewhere without any buffs and my hit rating is around 9%. In addition to the gear you can see in my profile I'm currenltly grinding rep for the aldors to get the vindicators brand with mongoose.

1. How good do I have to be before I'm doing heroics?

2. Being a warrior, most people seem to presume I'm a tank when I'm in LFM. I'm currently the only lvl70 in my guild and it will take weeks before we'll get more. Would you suggest that I temporarily change guilds? What should I be looking for?

3. How long does it take to do an instance approximately?

In addition to this, I'm wondering if there is a list somewhere for thebest enchants for dps-warriors?

Thanks for your time

Regards,

HarryPlopper

1) normally you are good enough for heroics when you got the keys (enough runs for gear and experience) Problem is people want you to be prot specc for the tanking job

2) Why change? You can do PuG's but if you want to raid Kara or Gruul you have to find a well known guild who's progressing in those places. You have to ask your self the question: What do i want out of the game?

3) Hour is average, really depense which one

Btw have you ever did an instance? if not i suggest you do them and then come back

Thanks for your answers.

I have done a couple of instances like Deadmines, Stockades, Scarlet Monastry, Zul Farak etc and the lower part of the instance in searing gorge.

I thought instances took about 4-5 hours to do, but if it's no worse than 1-2 hours, things look better to be honest.

I like the game to be social, and I have a lot of in-game friends in my current guild. But it's a massive one if you look at the members (about 300) and most are about level 30-50 and I'm tired of 20 minute gryph flights to kill one elite and boosting. What I really want is the opportunity to do instances in outlands for gear and raids when the time is right. I've spoken to my guild master who is my best in-game friend, and he says it's ok for me to dissapear with my warrior. (I have two mid-level alts in the guild also).

Then i suggest you leave the guild so less boost-spam for you.

The 4-5 hours you are talking about are raiding times.
When i do the 5-mans in outland i spend between 1 and 3 hours really depends on group.

Tip: Do as much instances as you can but be advised that people want a tank and tanking is better when prot specced. In heroics warrior tanks are mostly prot specc. Its a rare thing for fury or arm warriors to tank in heroics but it isnt impossible

dps that can cc are prefered over dps warriors (although I've had groups with dps warriors... they were only in the group because they were close friends with someone else in the group).

you don't need to leave your guild. watch LFM messages (join LFG channel by joining for a group quest). then wait for a "LF tank for <instance>" messages. It doesn't matter that you're not protection. I assume you have a set of tanking gear... and let them know right away that you're going to roll on dps warrior gear.

2-3 hrs. leave group after 3 wipes, otherwise you're just wasting your time

even though you haven't tanked OL instances, i would highly suggest you learn how to (even just in your dps spec, you don't need any points in prot to tank nonheroic 5mans) because 1) it makes you a more complete warrior/player since you know your class inside out and you're more familiar with what you want out of the other classes in the group, and 2) it makes LFG a bit less painful; you'd be surprised how easily the invites roll in when people find out you're a good tank. if you really don't want to tank at all, i suggest rolling a rogue (as i suggested in another thread)... tanking is our #1 absolute best job and we are better at it than any other class, offtanking is our #2 job and dps #3.

if you and your group are very familiar with the instance (ie have run it 10+ times, consistently without wiping) then taking a bit over an hour isn't out of the question. however, i would put aside at least 3 hours to do an instance.

look at the PvE DPS FAQ for a list of some enchants you should get. mongoose on mainhand, potency on offhand, and savagery on 2h are good places to start, with +12 str on as many pieces as possible and +12 agi where you cannot get +12 str.
