Ok. Guess a better question is in order.
I've been doing some more reading and have narrowed my focus.
I would appreciate some input on the differences between a deep MM build and a hybrid SV/MM build for pvp.
I know that BM is nice, steady damage, great for PvE grinding, but that pvp is more about burst damage. Thus, I think BM is probably not the "best" for BGs (except AV which is more like PvE in a lot of ways and, also, to make casters QQ every two minutes when an unstoppable pet shreds them).
Looking at deep MM, you get increased crit % (lethal shots, improved barrage) and crit bonus damage (mortal shots), plus some talents for increased ranged damage as well as some pvp-type talents: silencing shot, scatter shot, improved concussive shot, and concussive barrage.
Looking at a hybrid SV/MM build (like 21/30) that picks up the MM talents lethal shots, mortal shots, and scatter shot, you can also get SV talents for increasing +hit (surefooted) and crit % (killer instinct) plus the SV goodies for better traps, defense, and stuns.
The biggest differences between deep MM and a SV/MM hybrid build seem to be that deep MM has silencing shot and the +12% crit to multi-shot (improved barrage).
For you pvp savvy hunters, how significant are these talents compared to what you might gain in the SV tree ? I never use multishot pve grinding as BM, so I just don't know. Any other considerations in these builds ?
