I am looking for an explanation on the mechanics of fade. Since it has a cool down, the timing of this spell could be crucial so I am looking for a better understanding of the spell. I guess whats throwing me off is the "10 seconds" portion of it.

Does it:

1: Remove X amount of agro whenever it's used? (Not understading the 10 second portion here)

2: Remove X amount of agro when your on the top of the hate list? (Again not understanding the 10 second portion)

3: Lessen the amount of hate you generate while the spell is in effect?

4: Freeze or remove you from the hate list for 10 seconds? If removed, would you be put back on the list at the amount of hate you were at or would you start over?

Having played various classes in other games where agro management is a huge roll of the class, I can see where this spell could be very useful.

Fade is different than most other threat reduction talents/spells which is what alot of people don't seem to understand.

lets say you have 10k threat. You hit fade and TEMPORARILY drop to say 8k. Now, at the end of the 10 seconds you will be back at 10k threat. The key to using it effectively is to hit fade and do NOTHING untill a tank has picked up whatever mob and gained more than your initial threat in those 10 seconds. Hence why most priests say fade is useless as it doesn't actually drop any threat at all, merely gives tanks a chance to "catch up" Also remember, that fade doesn't even "drop" that much threat, it's a lot lower iirc.

and before anyone says anything, I know those numbers are wrong, but I was just using an example to make it simple to understand.

Thats what I was looking for, thanks.

One more question. While fade is active, is agro generated at the same rate based on action performed or is it reduced?

I believe it's the same rate. It's just a temporary reduction of your overall threat. So if you keep generating threat you can still draw agro.

Bang on, you're threat generation rate as it were will stay the same. It is nice to note however that this mechanic can also allow your threat to essentially go into the negative for a short period of time which is really nice in those fights where aggro is dumped at some point.
