I know you say this is impossible but I think I found a glitch that allows it.
Last night I ran AV almost exclusively. One of these times I was on my mount when the battle was over and so when it kicked me my pet was standing next to me. Yeah if you don't believe me so what but I got a screenshot I will post when I get home if I can figure out where to to prove it.
I was so happy I thought they had fixed it for a minute... But unfortunately the first time I mounted up after the next run... sadly my pet was gone again

what do you mean fixed it? it's not broken!
they do this so that we dont have our pet constantly trailing behind us as we fly at 280 speed. It tends to agro everything on the ground that runs straight to you when you land or just kills your pet. if the pet gets far enough behind then it despawns.
the only repeatable glitch I've found is when you are doing netherwing quests and are magically transformed to a fel orc with a netherdrake mount it will sometimes bring your pet out or let you mount with the pet out. there is also a bug with this form that kills your pet when you go out over the edge of the map to fly to the netherwing island.

I was not on a flying mount. I was in Darnassus. So as I said I wish they had fixed it so we could have our pets while on a ground mount. (sadly this prolly will never happen)
why fix something that's not broken? the warlocks should be askin for a fix. they have to summon theirs don't they?

Besides, I wouldn't mind if they reintroduced Pets next to land mounts. Hell, I chose my Epic landmount for how it would look with Humar next to me. It is quite simply a mood thing.

QFT My epic Land mount is the White Cat. That cat was ment to be standing next to my Ghost Saber... as was the White Spotted Cat I had for my Rare Land Mount.
1 Looked just like my cat without the ethereal apearance and the other was in keeping with the white tradition of my mounts and pets... sadly... they took that away from me about a week after I got my epic land mount. /cry

They were asking for their mounts back when the change was first made. It wasn't because they had to summon (their pet came back instantly like our pets), but because of the buffs their pets gave.
I want my pet to stop dissapearing while I'm mounted, because if I'm knocked off my mount by a mob, my pet bar doesn't come back.
Eh? My pet reappears when I dismount, assuming I had not dismissed him previously.
good to know. I think in hindsight my friend the other day when he mentioned having to keep resummoning his pet might have been falling victim to the netherwing bug that kills mine as a hunter.
