Hit lv40 around 1:00am, ran back to org, got my mount and skills and such first thing. Hopped up on my 4-legged wonder of fastness, ran down to the bank, picked up my gear, headed to the AH with my remaining 50g, spent 20g on plate to replace the remaining mail, bought some thick armor kits (though didn't need 'em to reach the goal), got everything together, hit "C", and BAM! Armor 5140 at lv40. :)
Happy point for me, I'm sure some guys have more, some have less, but that was my goal.

Did you cheat by having Devo Aura up when you reported that? ^^
Either way, congrats, high armor is fun when you hit 40, as mobs and players that hit you now are just tinking away at you.

Not sure it is w/o DA or BoK (well, -10 w/o BoK), but that's what I'll be fighting with 95% of the time, so that's about right anyway.

I think that's the Retadins credo lol. As a general rule whenever putting up stats its a good idea to just put in the base stats before any buffs including auras blessings etc... we can fill in the rest ;)
Can't go to the armory or I'd post up what the gear and setup is, right now I'm at 10/20/0, I'll repost w/o aura's and whatnot later on.
Ok, somewhere in these posts recently, it was posted that by char name and server, you could go to armory. Government computers can't go to blizzards official site or WoW's for that matter. So here it is cap'n jack, lemme know what you think.

I beleived you in the first place, as for gear thats all pretty good, you obviously saved up for it.
I got a lot of the same gear that you got when I hit 40 and I had a bunch of the PvP honor rewards too. Though I was ret so it helped me out more.

Ret at your level is awesome, they just suck endgame so don't give me that. You'll find a lot of the Paladins on this board aren't what they leveled at. Maul leveled Ret as did I, I know bodh leveled prot and switched to holy.
I always say I leveled Ret, but it was really more Holy/Ret (i went down Ret to get SoC then went down Holy to get Holy Shock) my play style was just very ret-ish, swinging a big 2-hander, hoping SoC procs, however the Holy talents guaranteed my longevity, whereas once you get SoC in the ret tree, there isn't anything that great until Crusader Strike.
Ret up until about mid-50s is awesome, then the mobs get harder and everyone else's DPS shoots up while we lag behind.
I just enjoy getting hit I guess, something from childhood.
I'm still under the impression that if I wanted to go ret, I'd just roll a warrior, I dunno, I just can't really get over not liking ret... I've done some instances with me (MT) and a pally as dps, not the greatest, but a good healer in a pinch and helped with extra blessings and such. I guess a good ret pally is like an accessory bag for women >.>

i got that sword farming some mobs gave it to my rogue to enchant and equipped it by accident :(

At 40 on my old pally, with an armor scroll, MotW, Dev Aura (not imp, but I had toughness or the pally equivilant if it's different), I had over 6k armor. Unbuffed I had 5k.
He's been retired, since the RL buddy I played with left the server, and I went back to my alliance server to play with a certain female friend of mine.
