the set is still not very well optimised for Retridin needs...
Spelldamage reliance is still there, something needs to be done to remove that need. Retridins want more melee crit, str and agi. While the resilience is good the rest of the stats are a little on the short side.
The gloves are a step in the right direction. IF only crusader strike converted all spelldamage into damage or converted weapon damage into holy damage. I look at the Shaman talent that converts AP into spellpower a viable option for Retridins. Stacking a proper melee power stat that helps with damage output from abilities is good, mixing and matching like it is now is not very good.
personaly im fine with the spelldmg "reliance". its a stat that ups our dmg slightly and gives us more survivablity with bigger heals. resilience + other changes now means we can be alot more serious about ret in arenas.
You can't use survivability as the argument for spelldamage. You have to stack soooo much of it before it even becomes noticeable that you might as well just be a shockadin.
Spelldamage looks nice on paper, SoC damage is increased by it, CS damage is increased by it, etc... however AP/Crit/Str also increases those damage amounts, and in the case of Crit, can make it more bursty which is great for arenas/PvP.
