I realize that arms is the most viable spec for arena but I was wondering if you'd DW as a DPS raiding warrior. I realize that the crit from a MS with a slow 2hander is incredible but in an instance like gruul's or so, would you want to DW for more consistent damage?

once you have good hit/crit/ap gear then yes, DW is far far far better. However, getting the [good enough]gear for it[to make it viable] is fairly difficult.

D/w is usually more straight up personal dps. But arms brings another aspect of versatility to raids. blood frenzy increases ALL melee damage. Slam is also consistent low threat dps.

i find it odd on my server how the top warriors don't spec imp. slam. hmm.

anyway, you want to consider that you get more damage from white hits in dw fury than you do in a 2h arms spec. this is not the best example, but when i was in a 3man group with guildies in blade's edge to kill ogre elites, i doubled my MS warrior guildmate's total damage (80k to 40k), and i'm wearing mostly blues and he's got all blues and some arena/bg epics. as a 2h spec, you really need to spec 2/2 imp slam and bring all the haste trinkets/buffs you can find to a raid, even better if you have a shaman in the group.

indeed. imp slam is necessary if you want to use it to it's full extent for dps. your white damage will still be a significant amount of your dps, and lowering your swing time to just x + 0.5 for double dps; where x is your weapon speed. is much better than x + 1.5.
