Wow is all I can say.
My alt is a 33 rogue. I was questing in Stranglethorn tonight when "Matasabu" from "Isono Ke," a 40 night-elf hunter, rode up to me. I waved, he dismounted. When he did so, he was about 2 yards from being in the dead-zone. He stood in one place and didn't even put a sting on me. I got bored of sitting there after I realized that his shots weren't doing that much damage and vanished... then laughed at him a few times for good measure.
This is near the worst armory I've ever seen...

Anyway, it's perhaps a bit off topic, but I felt like going back on my main and showing him what a real hunter is about... but then realized he must have some sort of debilitating handicap and stopped myself from returning.

LOL. I love seeing players moving about me... Only to realise half a minute later that they're trying to kill me - very poorly.
In my early 40's, I once had a troll mage run through me from behind, Frost Nova while passing, and then keep running ahead to attack me from range in front of me! I just stood there, incredulous, for a moment or two. I was so stunned by his choice of action that I couldn't even make myself attack. No deadzone abuse, he kept me stationary so that I could be stuck shooting from a distance.
Did he think I was a warrior, for some reason? Or had he just met too many melee huntards and thought I'd work in much the same way? Needless to say, he died pretty quickly.
I met a few hunters while leveling up, though, who thought that standing there and auto-shotting was how they should world pvp. The idiocy of some people appalls me.

My first day of PvP was very similar. I was in STV, in my early 30s, and pre-swap to BM. I spy an Alliance Priest just a bit outside the sharks mouth tunnel to BB, flagged. I'd never done any PvP, but for whatever reason decided to give this Priest a go. The Priest died very fast. I head on down the road towards my questing area. Along the road I pass a Gnome Mage who is heading the opposite way. I see him turn around and pursue me, and then I eat a Fireball. I sic the Pet on him and bow fire and spells are exchanged. He runs in and Frost Novas, getting both the Pet and I. He then Blinks just outside of the dead zone, and I'm thinking "Great, he'll take two steps forward and then I'm toast". Thing was, he didn't take two steps forward. So he continues to eat arrows while his spells are delayed a bit, and I end up winning.
Flush with these victories, I started going to BGs and doing some world PvP. It showed me an entirely new and very exciting part of the game which I had neglected before.
Did anyone else notice that Matasabu didn't use all of his talent points? I think he's got 7 points just sitting there unused....

I was questing at 67 with a 69 prot warrior in BEM. A 70 rogue tried to gank us. Several times. 2/3 time we killed him, and then we were done with the area so we left. We looked up the rogue in armory. He had merc glad gear on. That is a whole new level of suck.

Some BE pala moron attacked me and my friends in gadget. As we were beating him he waits to unflag, rezes and /raspberries us and teleports [engineer!]
cept it seems he used the gadgetzan teleport. and it malfunctioned..lands not too far from where we stood

Gadget is right. That's the location with occasional malfunctions, such as polymorphing into an ooze or mis-teleporting to a fatal drop (unless you're a Mage, like my Engineer!).
All these are a paladin, but still stupid PvP stories...
1. Mid-20's, I get jumped by a red hunter. I kill it, then I see a druid a few levels above me. He doesn't bother to heal himself when I bubble and kill him, too.
2. Low 30's I was getting jumped by a 28 and 29 twink rogue (after I just respecced to prot) and they killed me...after 5 or 6 tries.
3. Mid-30's I dueled a low-30's druid and beat her pretty bad. We were questing near each other, I had 6 on me she had 1 on her. I had to heal, so I bubbled...which lead to her dying faster than my 35 warrior did in outlands.
4. Level 40, got stunlocked by a 47 rogue with some nice weapon enchants. Sent her running.
5. In desolace, a hunter jumps me. I charge (not literally) she lets me get to melee range and I kill her. She tries a second time, to the same effect. The third time she quasikites me (i.e. sends pet and runs) right into a horde town. I should take this time to mention, she aint horde.

I have had many encounters with my rogue on PVP server, people of higher lvl than me jump me, same old, same old, but apparently people that jump me aren't smart or world pvp from my exp is just full of idiots that don't know a single thing about PVP, barring 20+ lvls jumping me, I pretty much won always. And I was a combat sword lvling spec.
Oh yah, grinding in Stonetalon on harpies, a skull druid attacks me while I am on a mob.. so I finish the mob and kill druid. Just to point out how bad he was.

That profile is the GM of the guild that Matasabu belongs to. The guild leader is another hunter (level 41). Sure, it may be an alt for that player. But if this person is where Matasabu is getting their hunter tips... Well... It explains a bit.
LOL. I was at a friend's house once while he was playing WoW. I introduced him to the game months before and he was playing a feral druid, early 30's, at the time. He's fighting a rogue and manages to last a minute or so before getting himself killed... But I could tell the rogue wasn't super. If my friend had been quick on the heals, he could have won.
If he asked for help, I'd give him some but I don't tell people how to play when I'm just watching them have fun. Once he's dead, I casually ask why he decided not to heal... And, I kid you not, he slapped his head and yelled - "Oh, sh*t! I forgot that I can heal!!"

I'm really half-tempted to make an alliance alt on my friend's account just to send him a message and try to educate him... but it's probably a waste of time. :-P

Ive had two different encounters with alliance on a pvp server while playing my hunter.
First time I was lvl 54 and heading into Jaedenar in Felwood. Had a 54 NE hunter and a 57 Dwarf Pally come from behind and gank me while I was in combat with another mob. I died. I went back and rezzed and drank and ate. They were a little bit ahead of me. I see them as they are fighting something so I sit and wait. The hunter turns around after they done messing up the mobs and starts shooting at me.
So I start firing back and see the pally running toward me. I lay a freeze trap and he run right into it. I kill the hunter with about 1/2 life left. Then I kited the 57 pally until he was dead. Then I do a little dance.
2nd time almost same thing. Inside Jaedenar at lvl 55, and a 57 Rogue and a 60 Mage gank me from behind in combat. I rezz, rested up and they seen me. Mage starts casting Pyroblast. I run at him/her and hit scatter shot. Freeze rogue and kill the mage pretty eaisly then kite and kill the rogue.

i just rolled a nelf hunter who is now level 19, FroThaBow. i troll the hunter forums every now and then along with the other class forums, but basically i know nothing about the ideal shot rotation and where i should put my points... yet i have double this guy's crit and he has only double my AP???

Now granted I am speed leveling (what I can at 2 to 3 hours per work day) trying to get to 60 (or close) before I am able to buy TBC on the 7th, but my armory is sad. I know that this guy is obviously not speed leveling (toon has an old PvP title) but my armory is much much worse. /cry
I'm sure I'll get close enough before then that at the most an off day questing my booty off will get me high enough to head to outland.

Don't worry, you can be naked, with just a bow and arrows with BM spec and function fine in starting TBC zone.
Rayne, you're not nearly as bad as him... at least you have SOME agility gear... :) and you know not to stand almost in melee range and stand still against a melee class... lol :)
And dude, yeah... he is just sad :) Your toon is looking just fine, though!

Also... looks like he's recently updated his gear; maybe someone DID tell him he was a huntard, lol... last time I checked it was all +str and +spirit.

I don't know who told these people which gear to choose for their hunters but come on...spirit and strength? Surprised they are even using mail armor.

The only reason I did is because I was being polite and /waved... tried to be nice, and he started attacking me for no reason.
I am a really nice guy, but anyone who gets on my bad side doesn't get any more fluffy bunnies and rainbows. In fact, below the calm surface there is a storm brewing... a storm that will drown the n00bs of Azeroth in their own putrid, wretched blood and leave them ballooned and floating on the eddies of my anger.
Besides, don't you think this method is better than getting on my 70 and camping him for two hours? I just needed to vent, lol. :-P
