Why do people fight you over threat?Follow

#52 Oct 24 2007 at 1:53 PM Rating: Decent
using ktm, i see when people go overboard with threat - so overboard that they just make it near impossible for me to regain aggro, so i have to throw everything i have to regain it. I do- but its lame, it wastes my mana and they should know when to back off.
A guildie caster was doing that and eventually died and i had to save the group. I was the last man standing. Bubble , seals, judges ftw!
I said "back of a little, let me get aggro more", however it was too late for them =[. They learned after that one .. didnt wipe or anything but made it a difficult shatt halls run.

Problem with KTM and some other threat meters (all?) is that, as far as I know, people in your group must also be running it for numbers to show up properly, if at all.

And the things with those "special" people competing for threat, or trying to "prove" a Pally can't tank, is that most of the time they have little idea of what threat even is, so don't tell them to get a threat meter. ;P

oh yah. The people in the pug just happen to have it installed. ahhahaha good point is, why install it if your not using it. I hate people that play every class/build as if its a "do as much damage as fast as you can" thing. Annoying.

Agreed. Though, unfortunately, not all people mature like that. Some will continue to pull aggro off the person tanking just to show you that "paladins can't tank!".

Dumb sh*ts.

Heh,

Funny thing is I just rolled a Warrior and a Pally, 2 guesses as to which my tank is :)

If you guessed Pally your right, Warrior is just gonna be straight DPS, havn't seen many Warriors who can tank as good as a Pally, with their hands tied behind their back.

I always pull, I don't let anyone else. Don't wait for them to let you, you do it. If they sheep or something before you pull, break it with AS. When they tell you not to, tell them to wait until you pull. The ONLY time I don't pull, is if there is a Rogue sapping and I feel it is a necessary target to sap, like a couple of the mobs in SLabs.

Hmm.... Whenever I have run Shadow Labs with a Pally tank, there is absolutely no CC whatsoever the entire time :)

Otherwise if I am running on my hunter, usually I get picked for the trick pulls, I don't mind, just gets to be annoying if Warrios can't pick it up fast enough... Boom, run through consecrate, BINGO!, Mob gone :P

I almost never use CC anymore unless a mob fears or mind controls, then they usually get some CC, particularly if there's more than one. Even in Heroics I use as little CC as I can get away with. And if there's a Rogue, and they sap when it's not 100% necessary, I break it (unless there's a 4 or more pack and my shield misses that target).

thats basically what i was talking about, in SLabs, the mind-controlling guys, in the absence of other cc to control them, it's generally just easier to let the rogue sap and FF the summoner.
