I am fairly new to raids and I am respeccing 40/0/21 for raids and I was wondering about spell rotation. Lhiveras theorycraft says to use 4 ab then 2 fb's with a scorch injected. Should I follow that or just spam fb the whole time?

I am working on my gear...here is a link to my armory

you can raid with your current spec...

I see that you are fairly new into Kara (rep ring is blue and all that stuff...)

Arcane spec will only be more competitive with 2 piece T5. the rotation for that will be AB, AB, AB, Scorch. AM when clearcast. If you get your hands on a LC trinket, this combines well.

what I would suggest for you is to go and make that frozen shadoweave robe. After that continue with your current spec. Keep that robe you got now for the time when u need to go fire (SSC Hydross fight).

As a raider albeit new, its high time you get quality gems for your gear. Being "cheap" on that is not going to help your cause. For now, get the RED meta gem once you 1) get Mana etched crown or 2) get T4 helm. You can get the MSD meta gem but its more useful for fire mages and arcane mages whereas you would not be able to really make good use of it as a frost mage.

Stick to frost, its the best you can do with your current tailoring spec and raiding content. If your guild gets into TK, spec to frost again and laugh at the fire mages (I am one) while they spec arcane and spam AB at A'lar.

40/0/21 is how I started, I recommend continuiing on with that spec until you can get around 900+ frost damage (without mind mastery, that adds a large chunk), after that, assuming you want to stay frost, move to 10/0/51. As for your spell rotation, I would just spam frostbolt and it worked fine, throw in the occasional pom frostbolt and AP+Trinket FB at the end of the fight when you know you will have enough mana to finish the boss off.

Alright, my armory must not have updated yet. I made the shadoweave robe last night. I regemmed last night and put in veiled noble topaz's in the yellow spots except for one that i had a +8 hit gem in. I put some other blue gems in the other sockets.

I am working on getting new bracers, probably pvp ones until kara ones drop.

I did gruuls last night with my old 10/0/51 spec and was 15th on the damage meter. Hopefully next week when we run I will be a little higher up

You don't have the +dmg yet to be able to raid with 10/0/51, as previously stated I would stick with 40/0/21 to have mind mastery make up for the lack of damage that you have one your gear.

Also, remember that you do not need to match all of the socket colors, I personally loaded up with great dawnstones to get closer to the hit cap.

I recommend that you continue to work on getting to cenarion expedition exalted to get their +hit ring, and if you are scryer work on getting the scryer's bloodgem, those two things cover about 1/3 of your +hit needs, saving a lot of space in gems for +dmg/+crit.

Thanks anobix, I have been grindin scryer rep for what seems like forever, I am getting to the point where I might just buy tomes on the ah. I wish there was an instance that yielded scryer rep...perhaps one of the TK instances. Exhaulted with CE just seems like a long painful grind.

I do not recommend this, kill blood elves instead. They yield cloth, drops blues, coins, signets and tomes. A good session of farming cloth will yield a good load of rings, the odd green and blue, and a couple of tomes. Tomes are fairly easy to get, I rather sell them on the AH for gold where each fetch around 10g each. The rep gained from handing in signets is significant enough if you kill enough blood elves each day. You can also sell the cloth or hawk your wares as a tailor.

What you can do is farm a few Mech runs. The blood elves there drop signets and tomes too (though u need to roll on them). CE rep can be gained on the way while doing heroic SP and UB. Both instances yield drops that are important to mages. SP for the spell haste trinket, UB for the wand. The shoulder piece for the mana-etched set also drops in SP. You should also start lots of Heroic Rampart runs to get Thrallmar rep. For a mage starting out, that stormcaller blade is sweet. Have fun, stay focused.
