I'm looking for an enchant to slap on my staff. It's not a very good staff so I'm not looking to spend hundreds of gold on the enchant, but some additional strength or agility would be nice. Savagery looks like the best enchant for a DPS weapon, but I bet it costs a nasty chunk of coin as well.

Any suggestions on what to pick for a DPS weapon? Strength or agility?

35 agi is the overall best for tanking or dps, due to the crit chance boost.

Hm.

I recall Savagery being better for a pure DPS weapon, actually, but I could be wrong on that. Agility is definitely the best for a mixed-use staff of any kind.

Well usually if you're asking this question you're past the point of AP where strength and agility are weighted equally (about 2000 AP currently, 1200 down the road). In that case you've got 35agi vs (the equivalent of) less than 35 strength.

Thus unless you're particularly deficient in one or the other, 35 agi weights a bit higher.

getting 15-20 str isnt a bad idea if you want something a bit more cost effective maz. otherwise 35 agi all the way.

I'll have to look into the +35 agility one. It probably costs a lot, but I have a friend who's an enchanter so she'll do it for free if I bring the mats.

Savagery is +70 attack power, if my memory serves me right. I've seen people with a +20 strength enchant, but haven't been able to find the enchant here on the site.

I currently have 1700+ attack power in Cat form, if that information is important.

Nice thread, I picked up Fish on a Stick and was wondering what enchant to put on it. Looks like agility is the way to go, I just hope someone in my guild can do it for me.

With that AP in catform I think savagery is technically better (there's some sort of AP cut off where strength is better), however, after the patch the +35 agility will probably be better and if you don't have money to burn it might be better to stick that on, rather than overwrite savagery later (unless you think you'll upgrade your weapon soon).

Also depends how 'not good' it is I guess, I waited with enchants until I had my Dreamer's Dragonstaff and was dpsing in Kara more equally to the amount I was tanking (I don't pvp though).

I'm just running around with my Staff of Beasts. Not a very good weapon, but I don't have access to raiding at the moment and I'd really like to get better gear before I dive head-deep into PvP.

Wildcaller and Fleshling Simulation Staff are both better and are quested. I wouldn't enchant the Staff of Beasts, personally.

Broken record, 35 AGI is primo. Staff of Beasts isn't worth the 6Large Parismatic shrad cost imo.And yes, +20STR is called Potency.

Ah, Potency... figures. Why'd they have to change the name of that enchant when Greater and Major worked for all the other enchants? Smiley: rolleyes

I'm on the quest to get the Fleshling Simulation Staff. Hard quest is hard.
