My girlfriend and I are now 67, and will probably be 70 in a few more weeks. We are planning on getting all the BG Rewards for 70. We are farming the Marks for all but AV now and will do AV at 70 for the honor we need. After this though, with both of us in the BG gear, and both of us(at least I'd like to think), being competent players, how well will our team do in 2v2.

I'm mostly worried about the fact that neither of us will be able to heal. I can Drain Life, but that's getting nerfed next patch and won't be as reliable a way to keep myself full after that, and even before that does nothing for my g/f. Will pots be enough to keep us going when fighting a team with a good healer? What if we're fighting 2 classes capable of healing?

I guess the real question is, will we be wasting our time with this combo? Should we just both find someone else to team up with, or should we give it a shot?

I guess I am more interested in opinions of how well it will work, and maybe some tactical advice from someone whose tried it before. Honestly, I think we'll end up giving it a shot no matter what anyone says just to see if maybe we can make it work. We are used to playing together, know what the other is capable of, and rarely even need to communicate verbally anymore when we play BGs. This will probably work very well to our advantage, and give us an edge.

Well I'm a PVE player with only PVE gear and raid spec affliction (malediction, no iHoT etc). I started playing 2v2 with a hunter yesterday and we're at about 1600 rating now (was up to almost 1700 but lost some ^^)...
I need to get my hands on one more t5 and the void star talisman before I spec fel guard, but I expect that with some more experience (I haven't played pvp in a long while), new spec and pvp gear we'll do a lot better.

CC the healer (fear, death coil, spell lock) and kill the dps.

Ok, I'll probably be an SL/SL spec at that point, maybe Felguard, havn't totally decided yet how I'm gonna work that. I beleive she's going to be BM at that point, though she's switching to Survival ATM for Instancing since that's what we're gonna do to get to 70.

SL/SL is taking a bit of a nerf w/ the mortal strike thing, you may want to try DT/Ruin as it will provide more damage off the bat and with a hunter your primary focus is going to be getting someone down ASAP.

Well the highest rating my 2v2 got to ever was about 1600 and its Me(lock) and a hunter.

I would say that the hardest teams are the Warrior Pallys/ Pally Pally teams.

But I would say its a pretty decent team combo, pretty high Burst DPS.

But getting good gear also is a big part of it.

First of all i must apologise for bringing this topic up again. My friend is going to start playing WoW this week once his version of the game arrives and he plans to be a Human Warlock. Now i have been playing for a few weeks now (and having a blast playing my Tauren Druid^^) and im going to make an alliance character to join him.

I think we plan to duo together, but PvP will be a major aspect of our playing. In fact its one of the only reasons for playing at the minute as we both really enjoy it. Now as i want to duo with him i want to pick a class which will help more than hinder. I do not really want to heal, i end up doing a lot of healing in my MMO experience and its something id like to cut down on if possible. I was thinking of making a hunter so we would have a Warlock/Hunter duo. However both mine and my friend's knowledge of talent builds, available gear etc is next to non-existent. Im leaving the 'lock stuff to him as he will play it but bascally id like to put forward the following questions;

1) Hunter + Warlock - Is this a viable duo for all levels, not just level 70? I can imagine this depends on talents, gear etc but hypothetically can it be done realistically without needing the best of the best gear, (as we are both still very new to the game!)

2) Warlock + Shaman - Ive been looking at the Shaman forums and i will probably be making a post on there when i have a bit more free time. I was thinking of making an Enhancement / Elemental Shaman to go with my friend's Warlock. I was wondering if i could get some input as to this combo from the Warlock's point of view. Have you had many experiences with this combo? Im aware that Shaman is seen as a healing class but ive read they can do high burst damage in their so called 'suicide build'. Have you duoed with this Suicide Shaman to good effect?

3) This will probably be a broad question, but i need to make my decision as to what class to choose very soon so im just going to ask it. Are there any other good Warlock / DD (or DPS) job combos (excluding Druid) that is viable. I really do not want to heal and would prefer putting out numbers alongside the Warlock. However ill accept the point if you make it that a DD/Healer is a better overall combo and i should think about it. Indeed i will but only as a last resort :D

4) Just thought of this question, Warlock and Warlock. Now ive read something about either both going for the survivablity spec or try and max damage as quickly as possible, (sorry i cant remember where, and i do not remember the correct terminology). This question is twofold, is Warlock + Warlock effective for PvP, PvE stuff etc (but mainly PvP). Secondly, for those who have tried this combo, do you find that more effort needs to be put in for gear? (I am assuming that both 'locks will need the same / very similar gear and will need to run instances for example many times to achieve the 'optimum' gear requirements for continued levelling etc).

Thank you for your time, apologies for any spelling mistakes and repetition. Sorry if im highjacking your thread Lathais, i remembered seeing it like a week ago and figured id post here rather than making a new thread.
