Has anyone ever had it actually work against a hunter's pet? From all the times I've tried it... nothing has worked. I've always known that it was broken, but I thought maybe gouge + vanish or something would work. I'm kinda hoping someone has found something. So long as that pet is alive and the hunter isn't too far away, he's coming after me through hell and high water.

Supposedly this was either just fixed or getting fixed. I personally always try to blind the pet, cloak of shadows, then vanish. Its probably overkill, but it tends to work.

it was mentioned in the most recent large patch notes. but from what i see in BG's, it ain't fixed yet.

Vanish will never work and it's good if you learn that now. Never rely on it.

If cloak of shadows is up I will usually pop that before vanish to resist anything delayed from breaking my vanish. I was grinding BG's this weekend and I can't tell you how many times vanish was broken by a hunter's pet, reaaaly frustrating, especially when blind is down (3min CD = almost always). Also, what does it matter that rogues can stealth when every class with the right gear can see you from 10 yards. Especially warriors in merc gear...can you say "Intercept..Mortal Strike...***** it"

Had it work yesterday on a even level hunter (dont know what level his pet was).
I hate hunters...I have also had stealth broken by spells cast from distances after I vanished...and no, I didn't have a dot and no, he was no where near close enough to see me either. Plus, it only works half the time in instances if your party is gonna crash as well.

You got that right. Don't even bother wasting your vanish if the hunter's pet is on you. It's just a waste of a CD that you'll probably wish you had back later in the fight.

For sure. After trying to see if a simple gouge/vanish would work, I never tried it again whenever the pet was actually on me. The problem for me is fighting some other class, getting the kill, then hitting vanish because I saw others on the way/am fighting in the middle of a battle, only to see a pet I didn't know was coming homing in on me.
Since we are also in the discussion of stealth though, I wanted to ask....
Is Hunter's Mark broken? I can stealth anytime with it on me and the hunter can't see me(I've played hunter as well, so I'm sure this is true). I thought they were still supposed to be able to find me..
When im having one of those days with high latency and I cant use vanish to get away, I use it for attacking instead. garrote->vanish->CS->proceed with the killing.
I have never had a problem with VANISH.
Now, if a pet is following me and I can stealth, yea he will follow and attack me out of stealth.
The only time a vanish fails for me is when I vanish and the pets auto attack hits me out of stealth, which only happens if I lose my cool and scramble. Most the time I just take 1 second and time it right.
