So proud of druid!!Follow

I got to this point when I can say loud and clear: I love DRUIDS! Indeed, their versatility is ...so fckng awesome. And I realized that I'm good at tanking only with this class. I have played both warriors and paladins, and yet the druid seems to tank the best. I know it's not right to say that, but from my point of view, this is how I see. And I have to use mostly swipe...and feral charge.

I cannot understand why warriors don't know or don't want to tank. If things keep going on like this, maybe at one point druids will become official tankers...

Anyway, I'm really proud of my 53 fluffy dr00d.
But...

What do I do about gear? It's my only problem. In AH I can't find almost nothing useful for feral, even though many say to check for rogue gear, as it is almost the same. I keep looking, but nothing reveals promising.

BTW... (Elemental LW is good for feral dr00ds, right?)

Well, yeah in the AH look for +AGI, +STA, +AP, +STR gear. That's basically all you need.

If you plan on being feral at 70 then Elemental is the way to go with LW. That way you can make the Primal Strike set (mainly a rogue set, but great for feral druid dps set, especially after 2.3)

If you're going to be a Boomkin or Tree then go Tribal, for the Windhawk set, although if you're serious about healing you may even want to consider Tailoring and getting the Primal Mooncloth set.

At 53, I wouldn't worry too much about gear. Save your money unless an item is really out of date. In a few levels you'll be in Outland and the quest rewards and green drops will be far superior to a lot of what you'll see on the AH.

I'll second that when I hit out land I cried as I watched my blues get washed away in a see of quest reward and world drop greens. It made me sad (and pissed me of a touch) but the DPS and tanking abilities that I gained were awsome.

Uh...who in the world of warcraft says we aren't "official" tankers?

It's common knowledge (which like common sense admittedly isn't always so common) that there's three tanking classes in WoW: Warriors (all can but prots excel), Prot Pallies, and Feral Druids. In fact, I've run across many groups where people are like "oh thank goodness we got a bear tank, they're my favorite" -- and that's BEFORE I impress them with my awesomeness. : ) In fact, multiple times I've subbed into a group that kicked a warrior tank who had been unable to hold aggro. That's more about that player than the class, but still.

The net-net of info and opinions I've heard is that warriors are better for new encounters because they have more "uhoh" abilities, warriors are better against caster bosses because of spell reflect and more interrupts, pallies are best at tanking large numbers of mobs, and druids are best at tanking single hard hitting bosses because of our uberarmor and HP, and best at offtanking with ability to deal wicked damage or emergency heal/battlerez when an OT isn't needed.

The best thing about being a druid tank is that you are VERY gear dependant..
This makes us uber-versatile.
Myself im a Boomkin-drood, with a bit of feral points up my sleeve.
Solely by switching to me allmight-outlandinstance and worlddrop tanking set i can tank all instances up to mana tomb no problem (if the healer isnt some shadow-geared priest :P *baaad memories*), probably more but im just 67 =)
I tried to be feralspecced for a while, and even tho its easier, its not worth the ******** of feral talent points to me (lvl with same mage-partner all the time, boomkin works out way better cause of mana for healing).

Though you start wondering why some warriors cant tank when u gotta teach one they got tanking-skills in defensive mode -.-
